Three actors! I personally want Taub, Lawrence and Scooter, but I'm thinking OW will be one of the characters. Therefore, I want Taub and Lawrence (because we know KP is staying). Though I wouldn't complain if Scooter stuck around either.

LightMyCandle- 10-03-2007

Apparently, I'm the only one but Scooter did nothing for me and the sooner he's gone the better for me. Since we know KP is staying :D I'm betting the other two are Taub and 13, which kind of sucks about 13 but the other girl seems really one-dimensional. I'd prefer if he could just hire three guys but apparently we need a better ratio of men to women, for some reason.

407- 10-03-2007

But the House!guys are so much more interesting (and better written!)...

houserocket7- 10-03-2007

I think that House would do just about anything experiential just to see what it would be like (I have the same "problem"), but checking in on an afterlife he does not believe in doesn't sound plausible. My first thought was that House shocked himself as a direct result of what Wilson said, that he hadn't been there so he couldn't know about an afterlife....then, someone upthread reminded us of the heart attack and death during "Three Stories" So, I now readjust my thinking to say that TPTB forgot about his previous "death" in the heat of the moment of the excitement of House's death scene.

I personally want Taub, Lawrence and Scooter, but I'm thinking OW will be one of the characters. Therefore, I want Taub and Lawrence (because we know KP is staying). I'm good with PJ, OW and, obviously, KP. I really do *not* see them hiring all men just in the same way that I couldn't have seen them hire all women. It just doesn't seem likely. And as much as I do like Scooter, I don't see his character as being that long term and permanent. Note, though, that just because they're only adding three regulars to the cast doesn't mean that there couldn't be a recurrer or an occasional appearance made by people who get cut. Scooter could stick around in some capacity.

LightMyCandle- 10-03-2007

So, I now readjust my thinking to say that TPTB forgot about his previous "death" in the heat of the moment of the excitement of House's death scene. House "death" does seem like crack to them. They just can't seem to stop throwing them in here and there. My first thought was that House shocked himself as a direct result of what Wilson said, As much as I love Wilson and am happy that he seems more happy this season, this had better give me a little guilty!Wilson or angsty!Wilson. Everytime House almost dies the writers seem to forget about Wilson.

So, I now readjust my thinking to say that TPTB forgot about his previous "death" in the heat of the moment of the excitement of House's death scene. See, I think the opposite: it's exactly because he's had these interesting experiences each time he 'died' that he's willing to try it again. If House had seen nothing, just blackness, or hadn't remembered anything happening, I bet he'd be more willing to say 'been there, done that.'

According to sources, Kal Penn, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson will continue on the hit medical series "House" as regulars. From the spoilers thread, anyone find it a bit anticlimactic that we already know this & we've just barely started the survivor game? Couldn't they have waited to release the info, or is this a leak? (apart from the Kal Penn thing which looks official per MaryKir's post).

amysusanne- 10-03-2007

I have no idea if the other two are just leaks or assumptions, but I'm guessing that as far as KP goes, it's not really something that could be kept under wraps. It's a hit show with a high profile storyline and he's the biggest name of all the "competitors". I don't think they could keep it a secret that he'd signed a contract, so even though it's anticlimactic, it's kind of something that you just put out there because it's getting out there anyway. If it's true about the three (and I know that I've said it three or four times today, but since it's semi-official I refuse to stop repeating myself at this point {g}), I'm pleased. Obviously they could make me hate all three of them within just a couple of episodes, but for the moment, I like the actors and at least see promise in the characters.

vitawash99- 10-03-2007

That's what I keep thinking. If I was a clever producer, I'd have several fake ending pages out there. Seems totally lame to have the wind taken out of the sails of the storyline like that. That said, I like the choices. I was delighted about Kal Penn - his character's sort of Chase on crack (seriously, setting a patient on fire?), but I think it might be interesting for House to have someone that he actually has to temper down, rather than get them to think more outrageously. I really enjoyed watching Peter Jacobsen this summer, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does with the role. Plus it would be nice if someone was a grown-up on this show, and for now he seems to fill the bill. I also liked Thirteen just fine. I don't know if she'll actually grow on me, or just stagnate at "fine" but she didn't really bug me. I found her a little smug but mostly self-possessed, and she seemed like someone with both feet on the ground. Of course, it will be awfully difficult to keep her from getting too Mary-Sueish. But if they actually make her seem more like a mystery and less like a failure to explain things, I think her character will work out fine.

extra_cat- 10-03-2007

Getting stuck with TWO new people was bad enough. THREE just means less time for Chase, Wilson, and our other favorites. I'm especially worried about those two as Chase has always gotten less screentime than Cameron and Foreman and RSL openly admits that he wants to work "less."

Ranee- 10-03-2007

misere commented on the ep thread that the initial MarySue-ish ness of 13 was probably deliberate to set up a contrast with some type of fall from grace with the "big secret" comes out. Its a bit cliched, but it makes sense in a way. I'm pleased about Peter Jacobsen too (as well as Kal Penn, who I adore) - I really found Taub's character interesting & well thought out, but 13 I'm going to reserve judgment on until I see more. I'm sort of "meh" about what I've seen so far.

to21be- 10-03-2007

Looking at my calendar and the original dates of the so far released promotional photos they should be working on, or should maybe already have finished the episode they said would be the one when the survivor game is done. Wow, that was an awkward sentence. What I mean is, since who is staying is clear to the actors and crew now anyway, it seems like a good plan to keep control over it by releasing it with style themselves, instead of waiting for the self proclaimed 'insiders' in the press to do their dreaded 'scoop' shows/blogs I adore the end of the preview for next week. I'm evil. I'm looking forward to House electrocuting himself. He believes there's nothing out there (after death), says so to Wilson and Wilson throws back: "You don't know there's nothing!" Come on! How could a man like House resist a challenge like that? He can't stand not knowing something. He has to find out NOW. Alone. In his office! I love it! :D

Sorry. It seems I've found out how to do accidental double posts. ETA: Thanks saara-zaara. I only see the quote and edit buttons. I can be pretty dense. I'm afraid I don't know how to delete this post.

to21b, no worry, there's actually a delete button on your post, so you can delete it. If you have any problems ENB will take care of it.
