Read Less, More TV: Books, TV Shows, Movies, and More
Here you can talk about ANY TV show that isn't House.

Ok, I'll kick off It always amuses me when a show kicks off the season with a direct RT follow up of the season finale, yet people's hair has changed, weight has changed etc. NCIS: I'm happy that Jeanne is out of the picture for now. I hate her character and was not a fan of the amount of unnecessary screen time she was given. Still not a fan of Jenny, but I guess I'll deal with her. My McGee love is getting out of hand, though I don't like his current haircut. I absolutely love Fornell, I wish they had him on more often, his interactions with Gibbs are awesome. NCIS might be one of the most underrated shows on tv imo.

I don't participate in the fandom at all or read spoilers for "The Office" but can anyone say whether or not Roy (David Denman) is gone for good? And can someone please weigh in on the suckitude that was the "Grey's Anatomy" season premiere? Dear god. I imagine that will finally put an end to any comparisons between "House" and "Grey's." Simply awful.

I have a feeling that Roy probably won't be back. As for GA... I don't know. I enjoy a little bit of mind-numbing television every so often - I have bad taste. The S4 premiere? Looks better than the craptacular S3 but would never hold up against S1, which was wonderful. I tend to just blame Izzie and move on.

RE: The GA premier. I just sat there for an hour trying to remember who was who.(and coughing my lungs out, but that's a different story)

I've rarely felt sorry for actors before when considering what kind of lines they have to spew out. But I was visibly cringing for KH and all that Bambi crap that her role was comprised of. I don't think any actor could have polished that turd. Unbelievably mawkish writing.

bailey, it was bad enough that it couldn't hold my attention for much of the ep, can't comment a lot on the specific suckage, except wft was that scene with Mark & Derek making up?? The most interesting thing to me was that CSI apparently beat GA in the ratings - I want to see the ep now, supposedly it was good, but I'm curious about all the GSR & Jorga Fox rumors. I'm in the camp of not being able to stand her character, so I'm not upset about what happened in the ep, but the latest thing I heard is that rather than being completely gone is that she's in maybe a third of the eps this season. <- spoiler.

Does anyone here watch Dexter? The premiere is on tonight and I CAN'T WAIT!forumer.com/images/smilies/yes2.gif>

Oh, and just to change gears again---my geekier side comes out. Has anyone else been watching Ken Burns' "The War?" Never mind the fact that I love him beyond all reason and want to have his Beatle-looking babies, I think maybe he might have outdone himself with this one. Which is about the highest praise I can come up with because I never, ever thought he'd be able to improve upon "Baseball." Randomly, PBS sent us the entire disc collection as a promo at work where I promptly stole it. I have absolutely no intention of returning it. It's been nice to slowly make my way through the series and not be beholden to my television set every night. (Or shine too much attention on the fact that I'll be the last person on the planet to get a DVR or TiVO.) eta: Yes, sautomne, I watch Dexter. Love it. But I have to admit to being a downloader, not a Showtime viewer. Similiarly, I adore "Big Love" and "Californication", watched in the same format. eta: Just how much stealing and thievery did I cop to in this post? Criminy.

I didn't watch the show, but this train wreck I need to see  Any SGA fans? John - it only took them three seasons to say it! (that probably only makes sense if you follow the show obsessively).

GA has the awful car crash effect on me. Horrific, but I can't seem to look away *shrug* It seems like, according the TV adverts, England are on US time with Ugly Betty. Why can't they do that for House? Why do they have to be so freaking late? Actually, they're on US time for LOST as well... Maybe it's just ABC in general? Having said that, they're also on US time for American Idol... If FOX can give us AI on US time, what's wrong with not making us have to wait months and months and months to see House on an actual TV. *grumble grumble* Although, they don't even show The Office US over here. Maybe they're trying to make some sort of statement. Not that they show the UK version over here either, but whatever. I have it on DVD. If I prefer the US version of The Office to the UK version, does that make me a traitor to my country?

And can someone please weigh in on the suckitude that was the "Grey's Anatomy" season premiere? Haven't seen it yet, but I did see half of my chem. review session walk out fifteen minutes before the ep so that they could see it. I did watch Private Practice though, and I can't believe how fun it is (any show that starts an episode with a song by the Scissor Sisters is fun). Does anyone here watch Dexter? The premiere is on tonight and I CAN'T WAIT! That's one that I’m going to have to get my hands on. I don't have ShowTime, and I want it. Similiarly, I adore "Big Love" and "Californication", watched in the same format. How is David Duchovny? Although, they don't even show The Office US over here. Maybe they're trying to make some sort of statement. Not that they show the UK version over here either, but whatever. I have it on DVD. That makes sense. ABC (US) is remaking Life on Mars, so I doubt we'll ever have the release of the UK version over here on DVD.

bailey- 09-30-2007

How is David Duchovny? Hawt. No, seriously, I think this is a great role for him. There is no Fox Mulder in sight. It is actually kind of a House-like persona. His character, Hank Moody, is pretty much a wallowing in self-misery asshole, but has some real redeeming moments. In Moody's case, it's the affection he has for his daughter and ex-girlfriend, who he's really trying to win back. There is ALOT of nudity and adult themes in "Californication," but damn it if it isn't sharp and funny, too.

Ugly Betty had a lot of pre-season 1 buzz so it probably had a UK distributor in time for the launch. But it is odd that they didn't find a buyer for House early on. After all, Hugh Laurie has had a teeny, tiny following over there for about 25 years.
