There is ALOT of nudity and adult themes in "Californication," but damn it if it isn't sharp and funny, too. I hope you're not saying that the nudity is a bad thing  I have a completely inappropriate crush on David Duchovny.

Have you met my desktop wallpaper and the countless number of David Duchovny downloads on my computer? No, the nudity is not a bad thing! And there's nothing inappropriate about a crush on DD. He's very smart, sharp, possessed with a dry-wit, has a bit of a self-depreciating sense of humor, went to one of the best schools in the country and likes to box. Hmmmm....does that sound like anyone else we know?

The only returning shows I'm looking forward to are House and Dexter. I've tried getting hooked on Heroes but it's not happening. It's not become must see – although Mohinder is *Homer drool* I'm intrigued by the new Fox show New Amsterdam (or something like that). Speaking of crushes: Nikolaj Coster Waldau, oh boy!

Any SGA fans? John - it only took them three seasons to say it! (that probably only makes sense if you follow the show obsessively). Mr GG is a big sci-fi geek, loves both Stargates, BSG and Eureka. I can't wait for the new season of Lost to begin, February seems so damn far away though :( I never got into Grey's, the bits and pieces I've seen of it, it just doesn't appeal to me. If I want to watch train wreck tv, I'll watch CSI:Miami, that show is so bad it's awesome. NY is my favorite of the CSI's, they also have the hottest guys of all the CSI's I love Bones, but hate what they are doing to the whole Hodgkin/Angela situation. It's painful to watch imo.

Cool, GG! (though I doubt Mr GG cares about the squeeing John/Rodney slash as much as us fangirls!) I haven't seen Duchovny in Californication yet (no Showtime), but I adored him back in the day on XF (and for a really interesting piece of early DD go watch The Rapture). The same note of the pretty is nicely filled by Flanigan in SGA nowadays. The funniest thing is that the exec producer there (Joe Mazzolli) seems to have something of a mancrush (IMO) on JFlan.

When and what channel is SGA on? Dee has told me that it is very slashy. But I can never seem to find it on my telly.

(though I doubt Mr GG cares about the squeeing John/Rodney slash as much as us fangirls!) ha! Yeah I don't think so. He's in it for all the geekyness lol. I think I could like it, I might check out his SG-1 dvd's. I loved the movie.

Not to drive anyone crazy or anything, but I've seen the first episode of "Dexter" and it is fantastic. The heart is literally pounding by the end of the episode. I shall say no more.

Thanks Geege! John Barrowman is coming out with a new album. I was very excited about this news --then I saw the track list. Track Listing: 1. All Out Of Love 2. You're So Vain 3. She's Always A Woman 4. Time After Time 5. Weekend In New England 6. Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic 7. If You Leave Me Now 8. Your Song 9. Please Remember Me 10. Heaven 11. Being Alive 12. Feeling Good 13. All By Myself All Out of Love? Please tell me that he's NOT covering an Air Supply song. Weekend In New England - Hee! "And tell me When will our eyes meet When can I touch you When will this strong yearning end And when will I hold you again" During my freshman year in college, everyone in my dorm would spontaneously sing this at dinner. She's Always a Woman & Ever Little thing She does Is Magic- ??? Maybe they're dedicated to his mother? Heaven - All I can think of is that cheesy song by Warrant. There must be other songs out there titled 'Heaven', right? All By Myself - Please tell me that's a joke. God! Let's see...On the next album what'll he cover? Delta Dawn? Something by Captain and Tennille or Peaches and Herb?

Ooh, but Your Song...

When and what channel is SGA on? Dee has told me that it is very slashy. God, yes and its slashy when the writers apparently don't even know it. The "John" thing is illustrative. The main slash pairing is John (Sheppard) & Rodney (McKay). KcKay in three years never had a script where he called John by his first name - always by his title or occasionally his last name. Fic turned it into a "only in private" thing because of DADT because clearly they are friends & McKay calls other folks whom he is much less close to by their first name. But when the writers were asked why they made the decision to have Rodney behave like this wrt to Sheppard (this was reportedly at a panel early this summer), they didn't even know that they had done this (the response was "huh? how did we manage that?"). The very next ep i.e. the s4 premier has McKay use "John" for the first time (once in the entire ep) & the fandom rather went nuts this weekend (seriously nuts)! And don't get me started on the "40 candles" scene. At times I think the actors on that show get the slash thing & play to it more than the writers do.

Having said that, they're also on US time for American Idol... If FOX can give us AI on US time, what's wrong with not making us have to wait months and months and months to see House on an actual TV. ahh the question I ask every year when we get AI and 24 a day after the US airing on AFN but have to wait six or more months to get Lost or House or Bones etc. Anyone besides me see the new Bionic Woman? Personally I was underwhelmed by the whole thing. Thought they packed too much into one episode and really don't like this whole alter ego Bionic warrior thing they seem to have going.

fffaw- 09-30-2007

All By Myself - Please tell me that's a joke. Thou shalt not diss Eric Carmen or I'll have to beat ya, sauty. I'm a HUGE fan of The Raspberries and hence, EC can do no wrong. If You Leave Me Now A Chicago song. Hmmmm. Weekend in New England I've got a soft spot for this song. It's the penultimate cheese. The build up to the last chorus is INSANE. Oh John, you are sooooo fabulous! Being Alive This is from the Sondheim musical "Company" - it just had a revival on Broadway this past year. Raul Esparza (as Bobby) got to sing this song. It's really emotional and dramatic. My guess is JB will knock it out of the ballpark. JB's song choice on his records has never really floated my boat, but hey, it's still JB singing and there will probably be some seriously hot pix of him inside. :-) Just imagine he's giving you a private concert or crooning to a tied up and oiled David Tennant or John Simm! That should help you stomach the covers. :-) ETA: Did anyone catch the premiere of Moonlight on Friday? I watched it to see Sophia Myles (aka David Tennant's lady love) and it was wretched. So cliche. It's a vampire show and the ending montage was set to Evanesence, Oy. It made the Buffy shaped hole in my heart even bigger.

sautomne- 09-30-2007

It's a vampire show and the ending montage was set to Evanesence, Oy. Oh no they di'int! Just imagine he's giving you a private concert or crooning to a tied up and oiled David Tennant or John Simm! That should help you stomach the covers. Umm...now I can't finish my Latin homework. In addition to the aforementioned scenario, I'm also picturing the three of them tarted up like the boys in Fellini's Satyricon and cavorting in a Roman bathhouse. TMI. Sorry. This is from the Sondheim musical "Company" - it just had a revival on Broadway this past year. Raul Esparza (as Bobby) got to sing this song. It's really emotional and dramatic. My guess is JB will knock it out of the ballpark. He does. There a video of him singing that on Y-tube.

fffaw- 09-30-2007

Oh no they di'int! My reaction exactly. The plot also centered around about a bunch of goth kids led by a Svengali-like professor who claimed to be a vampire, but in some ridiculous metaphorical/philosophical sense. I think they got the plot on sale for 99 cents in the cut out bin at Plots R' Us. I've got to check out the JB video now. I love that song. And thanks a heap for the Fellini image. Now I won't get any work done tonight either. But I guess I started it. (BTW, I'm sending you something else - check your email)
