I think the song title says it best, "How can I miss you if you won't go away?" There's's no reason why the two of them can't recover/rebuild from the after effects of Amber's death. Even if there is no blame (and I'm not convinced there isn't) her death ws the dynamite that dislodged the dysfunction. It gave a reason for them both to step back and on reflection, step away. I think I said a while ago that what Wilson wants on some level is for House to change (since he couldn't changed his LLB perhaps) and what House wants is unquestioning acceptance for who he is as he is (which he couldn't get from his dad), so at least in subtext, they are at complete cross-purposes and the friendship as it was could never work for either of them. I suspect that two months after Wilson comes back, should he do so, all that will surface.

He just shows that House has more to offer than just misery and Wilson's summation of him Well, let's the PI be around House for 12 years, at least - an by choice, not because House was paying him! - then we may start to talk about his acceptance of House's wonderful qualities and endearing flaws. I have no doubts that what a lot of people saw in the episode, was what I should have seen. Problem is, it didn't work with me an I'm sure this says a lot more about me than about the episode itself. I think the song title says it best, "How can I miss you if you won't go away?" I had no idea that this is the title of the song! And actually, this works much better as a subtext than the whole episode for me.

I don't think he was supposed to make House seem like a teddy bear, honestly. But if Wilson really never remembers that he had fun with House and liked spending time with him, then there's no hope for a reconciliation. Why should he ever open the door again? The PI isn't replacing Wilson, he's a step along the way. House isn't shutting down and he's appreciating human contact--that's a good thing.

Lully, it's a song title I thought had the right feeling, but it's not actually in the show. Sorry if I was misleading. :-)

 Boffle, the mistake was totally mine! Actually, I should be more careful while I'm writing! What I was supposed to mean was: I had no idea that this is A title of A song, and if they had put that song on the episode I might have found easier to see their point!
