Poeia- 06-03-2008

Foreman suffered brain damage in Euphoria, Part 2. He came back to work a week later with some problems but they were resolved by the end of the week and he's been fine ever since. Once they have explored the aspects of an event that David Shore is interested in, the subject is dropped (e.g. the shooter from No Reason). So, yes, it is possible that the DBS would never be mentioned again. But I think, in this case, the events of HH and WH were created because they want to explore the emotional aftermath. I hope that will include questions about House's intellectual capabilities, guilt that both he and Wilson feel and more.

Since most people what wonderfully expressed what I want re H-W, my wish is a more general one: I want to see the world away from House's eyes. I know the show is House, Md and he is the alpha and omega of the show, so out of 45 running minutes let House have 40, but in those 5 show me Chase & Cameron having a moment alone, getting ready to go to work, having lunch/dinner, walking in a park, etc. Cuddy talking to her parents/siblings, charming a donor, playing tennis, etc. Wilson teaching, talking to a colleague, in a meeting, cooking, golfing, sailing, being with his family, etc. I want to see lives away from House, I don't need more than those few minutes, not even on every episode, a little breathing room would be nice.

Chase & Cameron having a moment alone, getting ready to go to work, having lunch/dinner, walking in a park, etc. Yes, I want to see their relationship completely seperate from House just a little bit. Wilson teaching, talking to a colleague, in a meeting, cooking, golfing, sailing, being with his family, etc. We might get something like this if House and Wilson begin the season very estranged which I suspect they will, unless we don't see Wilson at all, we have to see him doing something.

Taiga- 06-05-2008

I've always wanted to see more of Chase and Cameron's relationship. Enough to see how they work as a couple. Whenever House barges in on Wilson he's either in his office alone, with a patient or eating in the cafeteria (always alone). I've always wanted to see him crash an Oncology department meeting. Actually I'd like any proof that there is an Oncology department besides Wilson himself, I'd like to see him in his function as department head. I also want to see Cuddy in her role as hospital administrator besides cleaning up after House. Speaking of Wilson I have a small but to me an important request. I'd like to see Wilson call House his best friend. House has called Wilson his best friend when speaking to others and to Wilson, and has called himself Wilson's best friend, but Wilson has never once referred to House as his best friend. It's just "friend", always.

LightMyCandle- 06-05-2008

I'd like to see Wilson call House his best friend. House has called Wilson his best friend when speaking to others and to Wilson, and has called himself Wilson's best friend, but Wilson has never once referred to House as his best friend. It's just "friend", always. Yes, thank you for bringing this up. I noticed that at the end of last season that with House it's always, "best friend" and with Wilson it's always, "friend." So along with the hug that I am demanding, I too, want to see Wilson call House his best friend. Along the lines of name calling, I have a weird request that I'm slightly ashamed of. If House and Wilson are very estranged for a while, just to add to the coldness and distance, I want to hear one of them call the other one "Dr. House" or "Dr. Wilson," as opposed to just "House" or "Wilson," and in a dead serious, detached way. That to me would just be one of the coldest things that one could ever say to the other and it would twist the knife in deeper for me. And if it happens, I'd expect it to come from Wilson or at least him first. Obviously, I want them to make up and be close again, but as long as they're fighting (if they are) I want to hear this.

ixtab- 06-06-2008

LMC, Taiga I have always felt that Wilson refering to House as "friend" reflected his uncertainty about his value to House. House knows Wilson loves him, I don't think Wilson had ever been sure if House even cared. Even as far as the Pilot, Wilson hesitates before telling Rachel/Rebecca that House cares about him, and all that has happened since probably fed his insecurity even more. We always talk about House's insecurity and self-esteem issues, and sometimes we forget that Wilson has also some of the same issues (maybe for different reasons and certaintly expressed in a very different way, but still there). Anyway, I'd love to have a moment in S5 where Wilson feels secure enough in his value to House, that he can finally call him his Best Friend.

I have always felt that Wilson refering to House as "friend" reflected his uncertainty about his value to House. House knows Wilson loves him, I don't think Wilson had ever been sure if House even cared. Yep, I feel this way too. That's why I think someone would need to point this out to Wilson, otherwise I don't think Wilson's state of mind will allow him to believe in House, no matter how much House will try. And to be fair, House's usual behaviour is far from being the definition of a "best friend". OTOH, Wilson should know House enough to be able to read between the lines, but this could be a reflex of Wilson's insecurities. In the Pilot, despite his hesitation, he seemed sure about House's actions proving that he cared - at that time I think Wilson would have called House his best friend. But in Resignation is quite clear that he thinks that House doesn't care about him anymore - and House, being House, doesn't deny Wilson's assumption. It was a full circle. I'd love to see Wilson calling House his best friend, but I hope they don't rush things. I want to see they rebuilding their friendship slowly, but in a more equal ground and in a more healthier way, and I don't mind if is taken more than one season to do that.

LightMyCandle- 06-07-2008

And to be fair, House's usual behaviour is far from being the definition of a "best friend". OTOH, Wilson should know House enough to be able to read between the lines, but this could be a reflex of Wilson's insecurities. Well, Wilson's belief that House doesn't care about him could still be left over from Tritter. I keep thinking of the end scene of WAM (one of my favorites) when Wilson said that despite everything he knew that House cared and that used to be enough, but House's refusal to help him through seemed to prove to him that Wilson meant nothing to House. And despite all that we've seen as proof that House loves Wilson since then, I can understand Wilson still doubting it, especially since I believe he already has self-esteem issues. An outsider (Cuddy) spelling it out for Wilson might be the only way to get Wilson to trust House's love again, that or House doing something big enough that Wilson believes House himself. Not that the DBS was not HUGE but due to the circumstances I can believe Wilson wouldn't take that as a sign that House loves him.

blacktop- 06-10-2008

TPTB, especially Hugh Laurie, have always contended that as the central figure of the show, House will never change, while the surrounding characters may indeed change and develop. We will continue to learn more about House as we peel back additional layers, but he forever will remain the tortured, twisted embodiment of misery that we know and love. So what I want for season five is the payoff to this idea. We have already seen that CCF have changed significantly from their characterizations in season one. Now I want to see more development for the new fellows and important changes for Wilson and Cuddy too. I want at least some of Wilson's anger, resentment, and grief to not wear off as the season proceeds. He has been through a major trauma and I hope that he emerges as a somewhat changed person. The friendship with House should be restored, of course, but on a different set of norms. I hope that the change for Cuddy will be that she becomes more open, frank, and unambiguous about her needs, especially as they relate to House. Her guilt, self-sacrifice, and hesitation need to diminish as part of this transformation. I believe that her urging Wilson to wake up the dying Amber to give him a chance to express his love for her is an important indication of Cuddy's shifting perspective in this area. Further, I think that the public bedside vigil and hand-holding that ended season four suggests that this might be a genuine possibility.

xxvickyy- 06-15-2008

Season 5 is just a few months away! :D And simply put, I would like to see balance. Balance with the medicine, the emotions, the realistic aspects, the drama, the character development, and all that jazz would be just lovely. Throughout season four, I thought this was the key thing missing. One episode, take LTD, would have a great medical mystery and character development (with Wilson/Amber), and yet come on. House kidnapping a celebrity? I personally think this is completely unrealistic, even for a TV show. Frankly, I don't believe this problem was as evident in the previous seasons as it is in this one. I completely agree on: -several, but not too many, episodes dedicated to House & Wilson reconciliation -Cuddy or House developing a serious relationship with somebody (which should inevitably fail) Oh, and I would really be glad if House would tone down on the risking his life/trying to kill himself thing. haha, too much to ask for? :)

Chipmunk_love- 06-15-2008

Cuddy or House developing a serious relationship with somebody (which should inevitably fail) And with this, I would like to see it almost work. Presumably, TPTB are going to pair them together, and I would like it to be for more than an episode. Four episodes would be nice. I would like to see them try, to want this, and then one or both of them to crash & burn. I know that it's not a popular viewpoint given that this is a predominantly H/W board, but I think it would be probably a bit realistic given their current circumstances (holding hands). Which I think is what you were saying, vicky, but I just drew it out more.

jair- 06-15-2008

I would very much like them to explore House and Cuddy, and as a realistic shot at a relationship, not a one night stand. I think House just found out that he cannot put his all his relationship eggs in Wilson's basket (hmm, I know, that sounds . . . odd), because Wilson's relationship needs do not centre on him. He needs to open up to someone else the way he has to Wilson, and Cuddy I think is the logical choice for him. I'd like to see him take some real relationship risks with her. I expect the exploration to have lots of bumps, because their professional ties, never mind their personal ones, are full of tension. But sometimes that's the way things happen, and I believe that these two care very much for each other.

marla_singer- 10-31-2008

i'd really like a character episode for kutner, and please no more near death experiences for house.

Cutie Honey- 11-08-2008

Aye aye! Kutner is my favorite new duckling, so I'd definitely love to see some more development on him. I also wouldn't mind him having more lines in each episode - His dry humor is one of his better character traits, yet we rarely get to see it. Oh, and where is the angst between Wilson and House that was mentioned in a recent interview? Their friendship seems to have gone back to normal, so I hope the "Amber's ghost will continue to haunt both men" plot will start happening soon. If their friendship continues on normally (as it is now), then some more angst regarding Amber's death might seem a little too late.

LightMyCandle- 11-08-2008

Cutie Honey, regarding the SPOILER>>Amber's ghost plot, I wouldn't count on anything, I've learned that when they are vague like that, it usually doesn't mean anything. I had hope that it would come into play in the hostage episode but it sounds like Wilson won't even be in that episode. Heck, the Amber thing was probably just a reference to Lucky Thirteen.END.
