People Don't Change (III): What You Want in S7 (NO SPOILERS) Feel free to post your wish lists for Season 7 and remember, NO SPOILERS!
I'll start.
What I would like from Huddy:
Cuddy tends to think House exaggerates the pain in his leg to get his way. After a few months sleeping next to someone who probably wakes up several times a night due to the pain, I hope she realizes how wrong she is.
They learn to fight with each other without resorting to crude, sexual remarks or humiliating the other person (him) or physical violence (her.)
They both really learn how to push each others' buttons. The fights after the inevitable break up will be legendary.

I like your ideas Poeia. I'd be happy with them.
Another idea: A long time ago I read a fanfic in which House had a long, convoluted, on-again off-again relationship with a woman. She was pregnant when he met her, so just like with Huddy, House had to adjust not just to his love for the woman, but also her child. In the end they formed a family, sort of. They didn't live together, but they were together most of the time, and House was lover to the woman and part-time father to her child. The relationship(s) worked.
I don't know if next season will be the last, with some sort of conclusion/finalization/breakup of Huddy, but I could see House and Cuddy eventually settling into this kind of non-traditional relationship. I can't see them in a traditional setup with the white picket fence and that whole deal. It should be fun to watch them work things out, assuming we are long past trip-wires and other juvenile behavior.

Love the idea of this thread! What I would like to see from next season would be a full-on exploration of House's character while he is in a romantic relationship. I want to see his relationship with Cuddy worked out at length as a sort of Sartre/de Beauvoir relationship of two unconventional, smart, tough, driven and mixed-up people who won't live together but who want to try to form a committed life together.
I want to see TPTB attempt to show the excruciating strains and setbacks of life and love with an addict. I want to see a little bit of how hard it is to integrate a demanding man into the life of a small child.
I want to see how House's team and especially Wilson adjust to this new idea of House.
I want to see how House asserts his independence and rebelliousness and how Cuddy makes room in her controlling world view for him.
I never want to see House domesticated.

I never want to see House domesticated.
Definitely this.
I said on Twitter that the final outcome of how well "Help Me" worked will lie with how they play with House and Cuddy going forward. To play off of the phrase "warts and all," I hope to see lots and lots and lots of warts, with just enough hope to keep House from self destructing.
I don't want traditional romance, I don't want House to be magically cured. I would love to see lots and lots of messy emotions from all the players.
And I kind of would love to see House's Mom's reaction, though I doubt that will happen.

I'd like things between House and Cuddy to end in, say, February sweeps with a truly spectacular kaboom, and then for the rest of the season to show House confronting the big question that's been (IMO) kind of lurking behind all of his changes the past two seasons - what happens if he gets what he wanted but it still doesn't make him happy?

Re: People Don't Change (III): What You Want in S7 (NO SPOIL Feel free to post your wish lists for Season 7 and remember, NO SPOILERS!
I'd like to see House a bit out of his element, acting like a normal guy with insecurities. He did this in "Ugly", when he realized that he had hired a babe because she was a babe, and it was adorable.
Clinic patients.
An exploration of serious, I mean serious, Sam-Wilson issues. Enough of the silliness we have seen so far: if you can be broken up by improper dairy storage, yours is not the romance of the ages. I demand the gorging of flesh and tossing of bones.
Someone else already said this but I second: House and Cuddy working out some way to balance a working relationship with a personal/romantic one, in some way that takes their usual eccentricity to the level of art. I particularly would like there to be one moment, just one, when House looks at her, mid-diatribe, and gets his Epiphany of the Week, and it is: Oh, My, God, this dear woman is nearly as screwed up as I am.
Better development of Thirteen's character, not as a foil for the other cast but as a person with flaws (other than smugness and the annoying absence of apparent flaws) and problems of her own.
Foreman, acting with the understated compassion he showed in the season 6 finale, more often. That Foreman, I could love.
And please, please, plleeaassssepleasepleaseplease can we have House getting dating advice from Wilson?
On a superficial note, I want to see & hear HL play some music.

I want to see more of Chase and I want the writers to remember that he's pretty damn clever medically and otherwise. I'd like to see more House/Chase interaction outside the hospital like the speed dating and karaoke scenes. I want Chase/Cameron to be over and not come back and for Chase to find someone who'll actually love him, but I don't want that to take the forefront to medical stories or interactions with House.
I want 13 to stop having the upper hand and coming off as supposed to be superior to everyone. I'd like to see her make a fool of herself a few times so she becomes more like a human and less like a Mary Sue. If we must contend with her, they could at least write her so that she's not so unbearable.
I'd like to see Rachel find out about Taub's cheating on her and leave him, not in a overblown huge story, but just something that happens and gets addressed in little pieces. For instance, Taub is in a bad mood because he just got served with divorce papers. A few weeks later we find out that Rachel is getting one hell of a settlement and Taub considers going back to plastic surgery because of the financial burden. I'd like for them to tell it in scenes rather than as the A or B story of an episode.
I don't want to see House and Cuddy's relationship become the focus of the show. I hope it lasts for a very short period of time and that Cuddy comes to her senses and realizes that House is neither relationship nor Daddy-for-Rachel material. House is a great character, but any woman would have to be out of her mind to put up with the kind of disrespect he shows her and bring that into her child's life. On the same token, I don't think any woman who would trip wire a crippled man is much of a prize either.
Overall, I'd like to know that these characters have lives outside the hospital, but I want the medicine to take center stage.

For season 7 I would like to see House and Cuddy relationship as a side story, not the main thing on the show, but I would like them to last. I want to have House in a relationship, as the background, and still being a (slightly) improved version of his old self ass type.
I want to see parallel House and Wilson relationships and them having boys nights out together.
I want more Chase.
I want the return of serious POTW cases, with thoughtful and meaning House.
I want the return of clinic duty!!

Heh, I'll be really mean. I want House to be preoccupied for a little while with Cuddy and not have time for Wilson, who then realizes that he needs House's company just as much as House has always needed his.
... and most of the other stuff you guys have already come up with.

That is very mean and cruel of you.
I like it.
Mer Duff- 05-19-2010
I'd like to see memorable POTWs with challenging ethical issues balanced with humorous clinic patients.
I'd like to see House and Cuddy explore their relationship, but not as the main focus of the show. I want fireworks, but I'd also like to see the calm after the storm. Preferably in no more than two scenes per week! At the same time, I'd like to see Wilson/Sam be used as more than just a parallel or mirror for House/Cuddy. And at some point, I want the show to acknowledge that it is possible to be happy and fulfilled without being in a romantic relationship.
But most of all, I really, really want to know Wilson's other brother's name and their birth order :)

Clinic Duty!
That is all....

What she said. I'd add that I generally want to see lots of team interaction and learn more about them, but please! let us know about their beliefs and problems in some less heavy-handed ways than killing patients and giving love advice to everyone who is unfortunate enough to need some help.
And I actually like Thirteen so I hope she's not gone for too long, but I really don't want to see her problems presented as the most important thing ever (in fact, I want the show to remind me it's about medical issues not personal lives of doctors - find a little balance, I beg you!)

Word to both. I don't want to see House and Cuddy split up immediately, it'd be IMO more nonsensical than the last episode's ending but I hope their relationship won't dominate the show. I also fervently wish that when they break up (with a bang or a whimper, it doesn't really matter) the viewers won't be treated to another set of stupid and harmful pranks. I hope they could come back to being friends and more respectful of each other than before.
Speaking of friends - please don't reduce Wilson's time next season to only his fling with Sam or being Huddy cheerleader. We need some good H/W friendship moments (or maybe jealousy moments?) to21be, I like your idea:
Heh, I'll be really mean. I want House to be preoccupied for a little while with Cuddy and not have time for Wilson, who then realizes that he needs House's company just as much as House has always needed his.
I've been longing for jealous!Wilson for a long time, so whatever form it takes, I'll be happy :D
Clinic Duty - we seriously need it!
But most of all, I really, really want to know Wilson's other brother's name and their birth order :)
You mean we don't know it? I'd swear it's Peter and he's the youngest
Chipmunk_love- 05-19-2010
Others have mentioned the opportunity for jealous!Wilson, and I absolutely love the idea. We've explored why House needs Wilson from top to bottom, but I think we've only hit the tip of the iceberg for why Wilson needs House. This is a great time to look into that.
Definitely more clinic scenes. Now that House has a reason to spend more time around Cuddy's office, she should use her wiles to get him into that clinic!
As for House and Cuddy's relationship, I'd like it to center around what I see as the thesis for the entire show: "You can't always get what you want (but sometimes you get what you need)." I do want them to strive for happiness and even see glimpses of it, but I also think they should constantly be evaluating if such a long-term romantic relationship is what they need. After all, it makes their lives VERY complicated.
Anonyme- 05-19-2010
Oh, and I would like to see House cooking for Cuddy ONCE (i'm not keen on domestic scenes otherwise), because I got under the impression it is not something she is used to (eating homemade, I mean).
