People Don't Change (II): What You Want in S6 (NO SPOILERS)
Feel free to post your wish lists for Season 6 and remember, NO SPOILERS!

Hmm... I wonder what House will hallucinate next year. :) I would love to see Chase and Cameron in more medical roles. Even though I love the story of their relationship, I think that House being away presents a very good opportunity for them to step in and show off even more what they've learned since leaving. It would also be interesting to see how they would handle a DDX while married. Would they take disagreements personally? I'd like to see House and Cuddy re-build their relationship, first on a professional level and then on a personal level. Boundaries need to be set at both ends. On that topic, I'd like to see Cuddy work on her friendship with Wilson. House will be relying on Wilson first, but Wilson also needs someone on whom he can rely. Cuddy is the best person for that role, but she needs to step up more and consider his feelings past his role as House-Whisperer. More clinic patients. More Taub being bad ass.

Namaste- 05-15-2009

The obvious one: At least some of House's recovery, and its impact on him and others.

It would also be interesting to see how they would handle a DDX while married. Would they take disagreements personally? ITA, I would love to see them working together on a case now that they're married. I want to see how they would handle it. It adds a new layer to their dynamic that I hope we get to see at some point. As for House, I don't really know. I know I want to see at least one or two episodes of him at Mayfield, but I don't want it dragged on too long. I'd like to see Wilson be the one to pick him up since he dropped him off. I also hope that Wilson visits him. They're not so great at continuity and even though Wilson was standing by him in the finale, I have this nagging feeling that suddenly he won't be able to bring himself to visit or something like that. I hope they don't go there. Beyond that, I don't have any specific desires, except I'd like for them to ease up on Huddy.

I'd like to see: -At least one episode that breaks the structure while House is recovering from his breakdown - just focused on him in the hospital, with a few other characters visiting him. -More hallucination!Amber, for at least an episode or two, and if they're feeling really ambitious, House's dad too. -Less attention devoted to the show's romances, and more on all of the various friendships. I feel like that's relationship area that the show does consistently well. -For the supporting cast to be more consistently/equally featured. I've loved Cameron especially for the last two years or so, I'd really appreciate her getting more attention. And there wasn't a single episode in season 5 I'd consider to have a strong Chase-focus. -Less "event"-centered storytelling. Not every development has to be super-dramatic - the quiet moments can be effective too. -More Wilson! (I pretty much always want this. *g*) And a H/W hug would also not be amiss.

Thank you, Poeia, for this thread. I pretty much echo what has already been said. If there are any personal storylines other than House's, I don't want it to take over the show like Thirteen's did, and I want it to be about someone I care about. For instance, I could see Jesse Spencer handling a meaty storyline. What if Chase was under pressure at work and was in danger of turning to alcohol, like his mum? House showing concern over him because of his own addiction would be awesome. (Too much like fanfic, perhaps, but you get the idea.) No matter what the storyline, if it is anyone other than House's, it should stay in the background. I'd love to see more of House's mother; I think she could be a great source of insight into House, and humor as well. I guess if I can't be there to fluff up the pillows and make him soup, I'd want Blythe to do it. I wouldn't mind seeing Amber at the beginning to be used as House's mental whiteboard while he labors to heal himself, but once she's gone, she needs to stay away. I love Anne Dudek, but I don't want to see ANOTHER finale with Amber as a plot device, or Cuddy nudity, or House's sanity in question. I'm interested in seeing if David Shore plays the reality card again in regard to the three-year fellowships of Thirteen and Taub. I'm definitely interested in more Chase and Cameron as doctors.

And there wasn't a single episode in season 5 I'd consider to have a strong Chase-focus. And season 5 was better to him than season 4. So, yes, at least one episode in a season that has some strong Chase focus isn't too much to ask for. It's been two years! That's my biggest wish: more Chase! I'd like to see him used as a doctor, not just as half a couple. I'd like to see the medicine as a vehicle to find out more about him as a person like we used to see on a regular basis. I'd like to see Cameron used consistently. By that, I mean both written consistently and seen consistently. Four or five episodes in a row with no Cameron is ridiculous. ONE episode with no Chase or Cameron is ridiculous. They're names are still in the opening credits. They shouldn't have been used less than the "also starrings." On that note, five episodes with no 13 would be a pleasure. Less of her, please. She hasn't made a single plot they've stuck on her interesting. Please no more near death experiences for her unless they plan to follow through. I'd like to see less relationship stuff all around. The games have gotten old. And, of course, I'd like to see how House recovers, but I think that's a given. I'd like to see more than Wilson and Cuddy caring about him. I don't believe he's that isolated.

I'd like to see some of House's recovery, and wouldn't mind seeing a bit of Amber during that time, but then she has to go away for good. It would be cool if we could actually see House discussing things with the shrinks. I'd like to see more of Cameron. I still can't understand why her role on the show sank to such a low as it has this past season. More funny/weird clinic patients. I'd like to see Foreman either work for a living or go away. Jeez, he usually just sits there frowning at House all episode. I'm sure that Omar is frustrated at times. I know the House PTB can't do this on their own, but I would so like to have Fox cut back on the damned commercial breaks. So far I've been too impatient to see each episode to wait and Tivo it and watch it in blissful peace, but it's getting more and more tempting to do just that. I'd like House to get back to being more of a real person. God knows he was real at the end of this season, but I do think they go a little overboard with the clownishness and outrageous behavior sometimes. I can imagine meeting a RL brilliant doctor like the Greg House of season 1, even season 2. From there on he is somewhat unbelievable. People do change. They learn lessons. They mellow. They have psychotic breaks. If they are ever going to allow some changes in House's life, there will never be a better time to do it.

travin1- 05-15-2009

-Some of House's recovery. I don't want the season to open with House miraculously recovered. -Wilson having a crying/angry/meltdown over House (and to take it a step further...acknowledge his role in the DBS...I know, way too much to hope for). -More clinic patients -A musical episode (I will wish for this until season end!) -I really, really hope that House has some kind of physical issue with his head, not a mental issue. -More Chase & Cameron -I hope House & Cuddy get to some kind of understanding and build a friendship. -More House & babies/kids (either patients or Rachel) because it's just fun. -More House/Wilson pranks -Something a little lighthearted...2 seasons of total downers now, it's time we have a little fun, even if it doesn't last (and it's House, so it shouldn't).

marla_singer- 05-15-2009

less relationship drama and more medicine. also, i've said it before and i'll say it again, no more near death experiences for house, he's had his fair share already. :P oh and please more wilson, chase and taub, and less thirteen and cuddy.

cindylouwho- 05-15-2009

I want to see what happens inside Mayfield. I don't want to come back and have House be all better, like nothing happened. More House/Wilson. :) More clinic patients.

LightMyCandle- 05-15-2009

cindy, travin, your matching icons are messing with my mind. :D A couple more things. Less 14. No more near death experiences for 13 ever. She has to be almost caught up with House in that area. No new actor to replace Kutner. It's still a crowded cast, there's no need to make it worse. Having C/C back on the team while House is away would be great, but let's keep the cast as it is...unless you want to cut 13 or Foreman, in which case by all means. Amber can hang around for the duration of this arc, but once she's gone, she really should be gone. I love her and AD but I don't want her to turn into Denny (who might as well not even be dead at this point seeing as how he's in every other episode). I don't want to see her so often that it ruins the excitement of seeing her. She is dead and she can't be around forever.

What I want to see in Season 6 1. House in Mayfield, for at least a few episodes. I hope that they actually show what is like in there and the process of how House gets better. 2. Wilson dealing with House's issues. I really hope that they show how Wilson is dealing with House being mentally ill, and how hard it is for him, instead of his usual role of just being a sounding board for House and Cuddy. 3. No Huddy. I hope that they have House and Cuddy realize for sure that although they do love each other and care about each other that a romantic relationship is not what they really want or need. 4. Thirteen used like she was at the end of S5. I really, really like 13, as long as she is in the background, looking pretty taking care of the POTW's, with awesome scenes and lines every so often, like in A House Divided. Just no more 13!drama, please. 5. A real Wilson arc. This is my biggest hope, that there will be and arc about Wilson that is actually about Wilson. Every Wilson arc in the past has always been about House, which is fine, I loved the Odd Couple and Amber arcs, but I really would love to see a storyline that is about Wilson, about something that is going on in his life, with House only becoming involved at the end of the arc. After all, Cuddy, Chase and Cameron, Foreteen and even Taub have all had their own personal storylines, Wilson should have one too. ETA: Just had to add #6, lots and lots and lots of House/Wilson

Lully- 05-15-2009

I really would love to see a storyline that is about Wilson, about something that is going on in his life, with House only becoming involved at the end of the arc Hee… Can I have the opposite wish? I want every single arc about Wilson with House completely involved and the other way around too. Other than that… - Please, no more ANVILS! Or, at least, once in a while try a little subtlety again. It used to be fun… - Stop the ‘romantic’ soap-opera plots, this is House, not Greg’s Anatomy. - I want a hug between House and Wilson – I don’t mind if this will be S6 or other, but at some point a hug – I’m fine even if it’s a little OOC. - Some clue about Wilson’s brother status. - C&C being cute – but preferably during a DDX. - And of course, lots of House/Wilson, but I wish this every season.

Taiga- 05-15-2009

- To see some of House's recovery - Canon proof that House's mother either visited him in Mayfield or House had to stop her from doing so - For House to stop getting half-killed in every third episode - For the writers not to press the "reset" button and have House go back to exactly as he was before as if nothing happened; his previous life is what made him go insane, after all! - A real Wilson arc as said above - For Cuddy to be the strong but warm woman I respect, not the caricture who handed her panties over to one of House's fellows on a dare or installed a tripwire in House's doorway - More clinic patients - More ethical dilemmas - House-Wilson friendship
