Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but can anyone tell me how to reduce an image to 100x100 pixels so I can use it as an avatar? I can't seem to find any smaller than 400x500 or so (except throughout HHOW). Thanks in advance :)

Haha, this is something I have been dying to know, but was afraid to ask. Because I always figured everybody but me knew how to do this.

There are a lot of icon makers online. Some are fee, some require a download. I'd recommend looking around and see if anything out there fits what you're looking for.

I usually re-size a picture in photobucket if it doesn't fit somewhere.

I paste it in PowerPoint, resize it and save it as a picture. Not the most efficient way, but I can do it without thinking.

Thanks for all the help. I now have an avatar!!

This is probably my issue rather than a board issue, but .... I got a new MacBook (the track pad is Awesome!!!) but the board won't keep me logged in. For some reason HHoW and NYTimes are the only two sites giving me a problem. I used Firefox on the old MacBook and have been using Safari on this, so maybe it's just a browser issue, but ... ideas?

arizonamyrie- 04-22-2009

First, congrats on the MacBook - I am envious. It sounds like there is some security setting enabled within Safari that is clearing private data, but I'm in Safari right now and can't find it. Some of the things you can try is... -Make sure it's the newest version of Safari. -Make sure it's not set to private browsing (I had set the equivalent of this in Mozilla and had the problem you're having). -Empty the cache and delete the cookies. -Use Firefox with Ad Block Plus (unless you're able to block all the ads in Safari - in which a setting in that could be causing problems). Let us know if any of these help! And please let us know what fixed it in case we have other people with this problem.

I use Firefox on my MacBook but in my iPhone Safari, I can't stay logged in, so maybe it's a Safari thing (although I know the iPhone one is different).

I switched to Firefox (which I prefer anyway), and that seems to solve the problem.

Is anyone else getting the HHoW logo as a "Bandwidth Exceeded"?

arizonamyrie- 07-01-2009

We're currently aware of the image problem chipmunk, as everyone is actually getting it. We are also trying to fix the problem at the moment.

arizonamyrie- 07-01-2009

Update: The site logo should be working fine again. If you are still seeing a "bandwidth exceeded" message, please try refreshing the page. If this does not work, please try dumping your browser's cache and this should fix it.

Spoiler in the HoYay thread.

Sorted. So, so sorry.
