Oh, That's Gorgeous: Torchwood (US Pace) Hello people,
As of when the changes go through, this is the new US paced Torchwood thread. The old thread will be changed to UK pace as soon as this is up and running.
Spoilers for US pace work the same as they do everywhere else - if it hasn't aired in the US, put it in white.

I'm trying my damnedest not to spoil myself here (which is proving to be very hard), so I decided to come to this thread and ask a discussion question.
What do you guys think of Jack/Gwen?
arizonamyrie- 02-17-2008
It's being forced on to us too much too soon. If the powers want it to happen, then let the chemistry start more between them, don't just give us the googly-eyes and awkward glances when Rhys is around. I don't think I'd mind the pairing if it were presented more natural, but, I just feel like it's forced.
And I'd rather see Tosh/Owen right now, or Jack/Ianto.

I thing the only time i ever liked Jack/Gwen that in the shooting practice scene in "Ghost Machine"(which I watched last night.) Well played and wasn't particurally over the top IMO.
I forced my parents last night to watch disc 2 of the Torchwood DVDs that we Netflixed. When "Cyberwoman" came on, I ran into my room and didn't come out until it was over.
They LIKED it. *twitch*

HTR, if it makes you feel better, I've censored my family from that episode. I haven't even watched it on the DVD at all (but I have watched Countrycide and enjoyed it better than I remembered it).

Countrycide is my favorite episode. Is that sick? That's sick, isn't it?
Tenna- 08-01-2008
No, it's my favorite, too.
MissViolet- 08-04-2008
I think Fragments was my favorite episode, I really enjoyed the backstory. There's been a lot of good ones, though. Naturally the Jack/Ianto conversation and kiss in To The Last Man makes it one of my faves. The season finale was pretty good, too.
Where does the thread title come from? Is it because John Barrowman and Gareth David-Lloyd are so gorgeous? (at least, I think they are!)

From Captain John's reaction to the poodle he sees on the street in Season 2, Episode 1.
MissViolet- 08-04-2008
Oh, that's right, I remember. That was a funny line. It makes Jack's omnisexuality seem tame in comparison.

This just in from the BBC - it talks about the general storyline for next season, so don't read if you are completely spoilerphobic:
Plans for new Torchwood revealed

Thanks for the link. Too bad we're only getting 5 episodes next year. And I think only 4 for Doctor Who. I just hope they stagger them so I don't go into complete withdrawal.
I also hope Ianto has a bigger role - he's my favorite. Well, him and Jack, it's a tie.
fffaw- 08-27-2008
I'm with you. I hope they spread them out. It's too painful otherwise.
As long as I get a good amount of Jack/Ianto lovin' I'll be relatively happy. :-)
Tenna- 08-31-2008
I hope they'll spread them out, and they probably will. It seems to me that spreading them out is a better idea, anyway, y'know make the season last a month instead of a week. But what do I know?
I'd love it if we get some Jack/Ianto a la Gwen/Rhys from the last two seasons. And if we get to see Ianto's flat. That would be great.

Whee! I'm so happy to see this here. I've been trying to avoid places that are focused on the Whoverse, partly in fear of spoilers and partly as a prophylactic against newfandomitis, so this tiny little thread is just what I need.
I'm caught up on the first 2 seasons of the new Who and my PBS is about to start running the third, and I'm working my way through the first season of Torchwood. Can anyone tell me at what point the shows converge again? I'm assuming based on a few spoilers I haven't been able to avoid that they do converge again. Should I wait until I can finish Who s3 to start Torchwood 2, or is it safe to just watch straight through? Or are there specific episodes that sync up?
