Sorry P. You are not the only one who gets nightmares from some of my stuff.
Not Poeia Compatible means you get creeped out and have weird dreams... he he he!
Sort of like my vague fear of every going to Maine because of Mr King and the 'beep beep beep' thing in the movie Aliens.
I kind of smile everytime I see Poeias defination of what is and is not a scary fic for her. I imagine one day we will push it and she will start firing shots of the virtual clock tower.
That said, I love we use PS and NPS for distinguishers.
Got to rec Wounds Unhealed by mer_duff. Lots of depth, beautiful -- but it's mer_duff; we'd expect no less. H/W friendship with a lot of depth.
Here: http://mer-duff.livejournal.com/19500.html
Can I say I second Mare's rec here? Doesn't matter, I've already said it.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Chapter 18 of
All the Kings Men is up.
Elicia is torturing Wilson again
Tabula Rasa. H/W some violence, probably not Poeia compatible, very nicely done.
Guys, I think this idea of Poeia-safe/not-Poeia-safe can easily be overused. I really enjoyed Elicia's Tabula Rasa, but it's hardly the sort of unmotivated torture that Poeia says she dislikes. Wilson gets hurt, yeah, and that's the motivation for the story, but the hurt isn't the point, and it's not above 14A for violence. Also, to quote Monty Python--he gets better!

I agree. I read Tabula Rasa and it's fine -- strong stuff but not horrifying. It applies much more to anything in the Contractverse (or, from what I understand, Strangulation and Aftershocks.)
Just popping in to note that most of
Aftershocks is actually Poeia-safe. The violence occurred in
Bad Company; the whole point of
Aftershocks revolves around Wilson's recovery and how he and House come to terms with those traumatic events.
There are a few sections where there are flashbacks to the events of
Bad Company, but those flashbacks also help to explain how and why the whole traumatic event took place.
Recommending an interesting fic from
allycelestastar -- fascinating dream-like format in which House tries to figure out ... well, a lot of things. I'm not sure how to describe it much more than that.
How to BreatheMy Hall of Fame
I’ve been asked to recommend some of my favorite Chase fics. Since I love to read anything that is ducklings centric, I’m going to list several from the fluffy hall of fame in no particular order. I’m not going to recommend any WIP fics right now, but there are a few threatening to make the list (Postcards From Ruritana, Reflection, Exposure, Silenced). Also, there were also a couple already mentioned that I won’t repeat here. I'm missing some, but this is a good start.
Chase
Silenced by quack675 has already been mentioned here and it is stunning and one of my favorites, but quack also did another one that made my list. The Puzzle of Chase. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3234475/1/The_Puzzle_of_Chase
Melaine’s Mindless Abuse by Jennifferbutterfly. Easily one of the best comedies I’ve ever read in fandom. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3136817/1/Melanies_Mindless_Abuse
Someone Who Cares by Simply Kelp. Bible verses tied to a suicide attempt. Powerful stuff. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3140188/1/Someone_Who_Cares
Rewind by Merlin71. It’s long, but a great story about Chase's life spiraling out of control. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2939362/1/Rewind
Sugar On The Asphalt by RainyDayz. This is House and Chase trapped in a car together. No slash, just a great amount of bickering. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3350591/1/Sugar_On_The_Asphalt
A World More Full of Weeping by SaggaBott. This is House/Chase slash, and I usually never recommend slash (unless its House/Wilson). However, this story, which is long, is a masterpiece. It’s very very painful and emotional though, so much so, I’ve only been able to read it once. Warning, death!
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3134598/1/A_World_More_Full_of_Weeping
Ducklings
Admission by Roga. All three ducklings are badly injured in a car accident. House is there to deal with the consequences. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3187808/1/Admission
Foreman
Don’t Let the Ceiling Fall by SpreadTheWord (puppy_wuver on LJ). Fantastic story when he visits his brother in jail. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3658738/1/Dont_Let_the_Ceiling_Fall
Chase/Cameron
(Will not self promote, will not self promote….) There isn’t much here. Lately though, I’ve enjoyed anything coming from enigma731 on livejournal and ff.net. She has several and they’re all worthwhile. Anyway, if I have to pick only one, it would be this. A Matter of Physics. NC17. http://community.livejournal.com/housefic/1129868.html
Swim by Aenisees Thai. Great take on the events of the finale. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3574487/1/Swim
Aithlyn has done some good ones too, but this one is the one in on my memories list. The Second Coming. NC17 again.

Everyone
Attack of the Fifty Foot Mary Sues by BethTX. Another of the funniest ones I’ve ever read. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3326900/1/Attack_of_the_Fifty_Foot_Mary_Sues
Finally, my top two.
Double Ironed by simmyschtuff. I cry everytime I read this. Chase deathfic, but its incredible. http://simmyschtuff.livejournal.com/12262.html
Into White by pwcorgigirl. I can’t think of a better fic that shows Chase’s brilliance as a doctor and his inner demons haunting him. The writing is top notch. http://pwcorgigirl.livejournal.com/81883.html
Thanks Fluff. I'll check these out.

I haven't read Aftershockes yet, but from the description it sounds like it's along the same lines as "Pencils are Dangerous," which I have straight from the small green parrot's beak is not Poeia-safe.
Since fluffy isn't going to self promote, I just have to promote for her:
After Life at PPTH:
http://fluffykitty2001.livejournal.com/22987.html#cutid1
This is a great work! If religious ideas bother you, you may not like it, but I really think it's worth giving a shot anyway. Personally, religious ideas don't bother me one bit and I thought it was beautifully written. Chase is hanging between life and death. It's one of the best Chase-fics I've read. It's one of those stories I missed on FF.net and was thrilled to find when she posted on LJ.
Then there's the 104 ways series which you can find all of here:
http://fluffykitty2001.livejournal.com/
And my favorite so far is The Sixth Way:
http://fluffykitty2001.livejournal.com/22987.html#cutid1
Merry Little Christmas Redux:
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3291532/1/Merry_Little_Christmas_Redux
There are others I've missed by being too busy with life and my own stuff, but I'll get to them all eventually.
****
I'll also back up the rec for
Into White. Seriously... it's good enough to be an episode of the show. BRILLIANT.
Mmmmmm, Into White. Seconding, thirding and nthing that. It's possibly the best House-fic I've ever read.

Definitely in my top 10. Perfectly in character (as much as I love them, fanfics tend to make House a lot whinier and childish than he is on the show), intelligent and gripping.
