Namaste has posted Chapter 5 of The Past is the Present, her exploration of the relationships in House's life. If you're not reading this one you should be.

Thanks for the rec (and for past recs everyone). The entire thing is now complete. (There's even a Robert Johnson reference for radiosweetheart -- well, for me, but the discussion in the other thread brought it to mind.)
If I'd known it was going to hit 17,000 words, I would have saved it for the big bang challenge and added one more chapter.

God, the MST version of Chase's bloody sheets made me feel sick to my stomach and I stopped reading before any real violence started. I can't imagine what the non-MSTed version would have done.
If I'd known it was going to hit 17,000 words, I would have saved it for the big bang challenge and added one more chapter.
You'll just have to write another fic, then. Bad for you maybe but great for us! :thumb up:
The second half of 'Cat's Pee on a Gooseberry Bush' is up! Yay! House/Wilson/Cuddy friendship by the wonderful mer_duff. She writes great House/Wilson friendship stories, and I always adore her depictions of Cuddy.

Strong, strong second for Cat's Pee on a Gooseberry Bush. It's subtle, very funny, touching, a little sad, and one of the best studies I've ever seen of House's very possessive nature.
Gen with a little funny, racy House-Cuddy banter. Delicious. Go read!

Strong third Cat's Pee. Excellent end of summer treat. I saw some mild subtext in there, too, but everyone's mileage may vary.
Phinnia, an author I haven't seen before, gives us these nice reflections on House and Wilson: pocket/change: ten drabbles about things in pockets
Don't let the lack of capitalization in the title scare you off; it's correctly written, and well-written, and interesting. Appears to be set in the Julie days. Some House to Wilson UST but mild enough to ignore, I think.
Nightdog Barks- 09-03-2007
I'm strongly seconding Dee's rec of pocket/change.
It reminded me a bit of mer_duff's beautiful classic The A - Z of House -- these are deftly drawn, lovely little meditations on what might or might not be important to each man.
Please read and give this new author some encouragement!
*edited because missing words make a difference.

Jenniffer Butterfly is the first to take the Get Chase Hugged Challenge.

Warning: Character Death When it comes to that specific thing, I always want a warning. I typically avoid stories with that.
saara_zaara- 09-03-2007
Thirding pocket/change.
Just lovely & thanks for the rec, guys, I'm not sure I would have looked at it otherwise (& I even left a comment for the author ;D)

e_c, thanks
TrooperCam- 09-03-2007
I got asked to bring it over to the fanfic discussion thread, so that is where it is now. sorry about that JB
One rule I would like to see is if there is something in the story, a plot twist or something like character death, I would like to see that in spoiler bars. Kind of sucks going into a story knowing a character is going to die. IMHO
JenButterfly- 09-03-2007
I agree with that spoiler bar thing. Some people may want warnings, but I'd rather have the surprise.
phinnia- 09-03-2007
*blink blink* that was unexpected Hey, thanks for the recommendation. :-) I've never been here before (I've never written much fanfic before either) but y'all seem friendly and I think I'll stick around. Thanks for the encouragement!
saara_zaara- 09-03-2007
Welcome, phinnia, nice you could join us, we're definitely friendly 8)

I posted this in the October thread as well, but wanted to reiterate it here in case there were any questions.
At the present moment, we have a very open fic recommendation policy here. From the Lunch Menu:
Special Orders: Fic Recs - While this applies more to the Fan-Fic Recommendation thread, it's nice to state here as well. That thread should be reserved more for specific links, synopsis, and warnings for the story in question. A few stray comments here and there are okay, but that's more for that large table in the corner with the Sheep sitting and writing. They'll be glad to discuss anything fan-fic with you there.
If any of you would like to start the trend of the fic recs shifting to a different format, then it is perfectly acceptable to start reccing that way. We wish for this to be a place of open discussion and freedom of speech. It is not our job as moderators to censor any of you, just make sure things are running with respect for each other, which is why we have left the policy pretty open, as it is stated above.

I have just read a very, very hot and kind of kinky fic from our own hwshipperLet Me Take You To A....http://hwshipper.livejournal.com/2570.html
H/W + OMC, rating NC-17
Did I mention it's hot?
