This older rec is inspired by the recent conversation in the discussion thread about House's abuse revelation in ODOR. Axilotl's Transgressions deals with the kind of relationship House might have had with his father and the story really hasn't gotten enough love. Interesting that it predates ODOR by quite a while. Rated PG-13 or so for swearing and mild violence.

I'll second Aftershocks in the strongest possible terms. It's an extremely fascinating look at both House and Wilson and how each of them plus the relationship is changed by a catastrophic event.

Thanks extra_cat for the rec! I found this gem while digging through some archives on ff.net. Sadly, the author never finished it, but it is far enough along where one could guess their own ending. Chase and Foreman are caught by a patient's junkie boyfriend during a break-in. Some graphic injury and angst, but wonderful stuff. The writing is outstanding.
