JuliaB has also reposted Lullaby, her Contractverse piece, author's note says it there has been some editing done to it.. But she still hasn't nailed that tricky its/it's issue yet. Would those who follow her work like to point out some of the things she does well? Every time I dip into her work I immediately find something that sets my teeth on edge and sends me scrambling for the back button. But I've noticed that a lot of people who like my work also like hers, so maybe I'd find something to like if I were motivated to get past the surface flaws. Edited again to add that if anyone is burning to know what I said that was bitchy, PM me and I'll tell you. It wasn't interesting enough that anyone really needs to know; I just personally hate when someone changes something that's already been commented on and then I can't ever know what they originally said.

Hm. I felt the need to delete this post, but since that doesn't seem to be an option I'm merely editing. But -- oh noes! I have nothing new to rec! So maybe I'll rec something old instead. Here's one of my favorite House & Wilson stories ever in the whole wide world: Damascus by nightdog_barks. It's an unexpected, very unique little story that could read as either very slashy or else simply as ... House's own strange brand of close friendship. It's a fascinating look at the way House handles trust, in any case. And the atmosphere? Magically lovely. Those who know Nightdog only as the Torturer of Wilson, really should check this one out. It's a very gentle story, safe for all.

Hm, yeah, maybe I'll edit.

The board rules state that there's no bashing of other boards as it leads to personal attacks. (Remember, if you must pick on someone-pick on us!) Commenting on a consistent spelling and grammar error isn't an attack. It may be better suited for the fanfic discussion thread. It's all right as long as the fine line between mention and malice is maintained. The questions we must all ask ourselves are thus: What's the line? Is it the same for all or variable from person to person? Is it worth all the thought this requires? My brain hurts.

Hi, RS! The post in question has already been edited, actually. I love this forum so much. CousinAlexei, I've penned a lengthy response to this and am going to go post it in the discussion thread, which I've just remembered is where it belongs.

I love this forum so much. Thanks! We aim to please :D To nudge everyone back to the topic, I'm going to rec an oldie, but goody. Gen Chase & Foreman, apocafic, by Bone, who is usually known for writing F/Ch smut. I know most of the Chasers have probably read this, but I encourage everyone else to take a look, its a really great example of a writer stepping a little outside the norm of what they write. Gen as I said, PG13, H/W friendship also & refs to Cuddy & Cameron. Lenny Bruce is Not Afraid

Alex has a new oneshot posted Taste of Summer. Wilson cans tomatoes, House watches, H/W friendship. Has a very soft, lovely feeling.

No one rec Rubberbutton's new fic yet? It Ain’t Over... http://rubberbutton.livejournal.com/23482.html#cutid1 I't's rating PG-13/R for language and G for content. Five little glimpses about H/W over the years and how they ended up in PPTH. It's fabulous!

Not scary, just vibrant and alive and thoughtful - PG13 at the absolute most.

A great read for a Monday morning (or anytime, really): No Exchanges or Refunds. Cuddy tries once again to give House something for his birthday. Go, read, laugh your head off.

Roga- 08-27-2007

A little bit of hotness from queenzulu: Decoherence, Cuddy/Addison from Grey's Anatomy. Because Cuddy and Addison should, in the universal scheme of things, have as many scenes together (on and off screen) as possible. NC-17. ETA: And another new House/Grey's fic! Five True Things About Gregory House and Addison Montgomery by mardia, which is a short and lovely bit about House/Addison, mostly the hospital's reaction to their relationship.

saara_zaara- 08-27-2007

I'll second vitawash's No Exchanges or Refunds & also rec a fic by our own sasmom (writing as Barbara Barnett) All In (House & Cuddy, gen, post-Half-Wit, not related to either the episode entitled All In or Miss Violet's H/W fic of the same name).

CousinAlexei- 08-28-2007

Thirding "No Exchanges or Refunds." The header says something about mild House/Cuddy, but it's just sexual innuendo of the sort you'd see on the show--completely safe for the het-phobic.

saara_zaara- 08-28-2007

More from vita today, really cool Ch/Cu, helped along by House. R rated & very AU, the summary says "While at a medical conference in Las Vegas, Cuddy runs into House and does some unplanned networking." In the Looking Glass Also an update, fic House, fic Wilson & canon Chase take a trip to see a Broadway musical. PG, crackfic! Postcards From Ruritania - Chapter Ten

Quack675 has a wonderful new fic up called Assisted Living It's rated T and takes place before the whole fire/quitting mess. It's basically about Chase eating lunch with Foreman and his folks. The characterization is wonderful and the story is totally believable. One of these days, when I get around to making my castaway fic list of 8, this will be on there for sure.
