Namaste has the third chapter of The Past Is The Present up.

How d y'all do the fancy linking??
Really? Because what I gathered from it was that it was an intentionally bad parody....if that's possible.
I think the person was trying to be awful at characterisation and be over the top. You know, as one of those who -wants- to get MSTed. (Need I point you in the direction of Dru's 'See You In Hell' fic as proof) So I wasn't sure, that's why I recced it, to get you guys to read and hear your opinion. My opinion, based on the fact that the grammar is good and all that jazz, is they intentionally wanted it to be bad.
Anyhow, thanks for the second opinion.
Yeah - JenB, When Harry Met Greg is meant to be a piss take, and also remember Alex - everyones tastes vary - and comedy is HARD!
What's that line? Dying is easy, comedy is hard...
I was having a fight yesterday about this bloody classic comedy short film called The Plank - some people call it a classic, but to me it is 25 minutes of people getting hit with a big bit of wood. And it shizers me no end.
So eventually I went off to watch Stephen Fry be fat and witty on Parkie and they watched The Plank.
a Piss take? I have no idea what that means. (and that plank movie sounds like crap)
Anyhow, you should probably respond to my "What does a "piss take" in ff mean?" question in the discussion thread just to avoid getting of point here.
How's this,
JenB? I'll second the rec for
The Past Is The Present and also answer your question.
To "take the piss out of" something/someone is UK & Australian slang for general mockery. A "piss take" is a parody or spoof; can be good-natured or not.
Mare is much more with it than me. A piss take basically means you don't have to worry about going to the bathroom because you will have been peeingly exsanguinated.
I nicked that from ABOFAL.
Sorry I don't have anything good to rec this morning.
I could say Aftershocks has been updated and will make you cry, but I won't.
And thankyou Corgi for the link.
Just look down a bit...
Thirding the special surprise weekend installment of
Aftershocks.

All of these have been gorgeously written, but this one just grabs the reader around the heart.
ETA: Amending original post slightly because the 'net connection crashed as I was posting it and a couple of folks beat me to heralding the good news.
Aftershocks has been updated and will make you cry
Heh. Thanks Sheepie and Corgigirl and Misanthropic.
We do try, you know. This one came as a surprise to everyone involved, and we're glad it worked out so well.
Am I the first to rec this? "Luminosity," by Elica.
Wilson confesses his love for House, and they DON'T immediately fall into bed and begin the sex. Angst of the introspecitve variety, with funny bits. Ends on a relatively hopeful note. House first person POV, which I don't usually go for, but in this story, I didn't mind it.
Read it here:

Seconding Elicia8's "Luminosity".
