Okay, I've been wallowing in happiness with my brand new Season 3 DVDs, and of course jumped straight to the extras, where I watched The Making Of The Jerk--and had major squee moments as the cast talked about their on set passion for chess. Seems Omar is pretty accomplished and likes to play with Jesse--and Hugh also admits to playing a lot in his twenties. Jesse also referred to feeling a bit pissed when he wasn't allowed any chess playing scenes in The Jerk. So what's this got to do with fanfiction? Just that it made me grin and think of Sherlock21b's Playing for Position: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2703512/1/Playing_for_Position It's a great House & Chase gen fic from 2005 dealing with the beginning of Chase's fellowship (pre-Cameron) when he and House interacted by playing ongoing games of chess. Great character study and now double high marks for in character-ness (well, it would be if it were RPF.) :D
