*smiles* Thanks for the recs.

Has anyone read the story on house_fic where the summary is basically, "O hai, this is a Mary-Sue self insert with me instead of 13"? I looked at the first few screensful of it, and it didn't seem that bad--I didn't finish because I was sort of in the mood for hilariously awful. If someone who has read it through tells me it doesn't get worse as you go along, I'll go back and read the rest.

Alex, if you want hilariously awful, there's one on ff.net that I had to leave a horrible review for about a week ago, and I almost never post reviews. You may have seen it - Cameron is a princess. I feel bad posting the title/author here though. Oddly, the young writer responded very favorably to my review - she was receptive to criticism and didn't throw a tantrum! I couldn't believe it!

Taiga- 02-03-2008

Good for her. Is she aware that someone is MSTing it?

Kerry- 02-03-2008

Good for her. Is she aware that someone is MSTing it? Guess not. I was so horrified that I almost attempted my first MST to pick it apart! She was actually quite gracious - I almost felt bad for criticizing her. But she just keeps writing......

DeeLaundry reposted her spoilerfic Radiant Terrific Humble. http://deelaundry.livejournal.com/96752.html And can I just say two things? 1. It is Radiant Terrific and Funny. And 2. everyone who posts spoilerfic should be encouraged to repost it after it's no longer a spoiler...for all us spoilerphobes out here.

Lully- 02-04-2008

Oh, I so second Dee's spoilerfic! It's funny, sexy and really terrific!

phinnia- 02-04-2008

there was a post here, but it referenced a friendslocked fic, and occasionally I am an airhead and don't notice things like that, d'oh.

Paraoptomistic- 02-04-2008

topaz-eyes's fic must be friends locked, I can't access it  I'd like to rec phinnia's "ooh eee, oooh aah ahh" though. Hot House/Cate with a delicious pun. http://community.livejournal.com/housefic/1447037.html?#cutid1

phinnia- 02-04-2008

*headslap* my mistake (it's been one of those batch-of-days). deleting the post until/if she unlocks it. (and thanks so much for the rec, paraoptimistic!

You're welcome! Monday, Monday, can't trust that day... :guitar:

Really great old-school duckling fic from teenwitch77, The More Things Change. The author has spot-on POVs, captures the subtleties of relationships, and uses what could be a melodramatic plot with sophistication and heart. Summary: You hired a team. You connected with a team. You worked with a team. And you lost a team." The world the four of them inhabited had never been a normal one, and apparently it left its ties.

extra_cat- 02-05-2008

Since it's already been rec'd, I'll second "The More Things Change." Excellent!

OldHamster- 02-05-2008

Thirding "The More Things Change." The story could easily have turned into the Schmoop and Angst Hour in the hands of a less skilled author ... and it doesn't. It's just beautifully, elegantly done.

Namaste- 02-05-2008

Hmm. Guess I'll have to decide whether to change the name of my BigBang Fic, since it's also "The More Things Change."
