Not exactly the word I would have chosen, but she does have a bit of je ne sais quoi.

fffaw- 06-04-2010

Aw! I think she's cute in a disturbing way. Poor little thing. She had a good long life though and was well loved.

Poeia- 06-04-2010

Actually, that was the first pic I came across of her. Most of the others aren't as attractive. But she's still mesmerizing. And it's lovely that they traveled the country entering contests and raising awareness for the Humane Society. Apparently she raised over $100,000 for them.

Not gonna lie, I love an ugly dog. They're the cutest.

Cuddyclothes- 06-04-2010

What a cutie-pie! Is anyone else suffering "death fatigue"? Cool people and things need to stop dying!

fffaw- 06-07-2010

Former Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable is dead at 40.

Poeia- 06-13-2010

Wow. A whole week without a post here. But Jimmy Dean of country music and sausage fame has died.

radiosweetheart- 06-13-2010

Eerie! Earlier today I totally twitted about how I wanted sausage gravy and then Jimmy Dean died. I mean, what're the odds?

Namaste- 06-14-2010

I suppose the odds depend on how often you want sausage gravy. Mmm. Sausage gravy. (My brother-in-law used to make it every Sunday. And it was good.) And for those who don't remember the non-sausage side of Jimmy Dean, Big Bad John. Broad in the shoulder and narrow in the hip, and everyone knew you didn't give no lip to Big John.

Oh, yes, that song...Big Bad John (Backup singers) Big Bad John I never had sausage gravy until I went down south to visit my husband's relatives. Oh MAN, what a treat! And real biscuits! There's a place in Winston-Salem that makes biscuits so well I'm willing to visit my mother-in-law just to go to Fourway!

radiosweetheart- 06-15-2010

You ain't seen nothin' til you been to the Loveless. Get on down here and I'll show you biscuits. I'm still hungry for sausage gravy. And, of course, I am grateful for Jimmy Dean for his musical and meat product contributions.

Manute Bol may have jut seemed like a freak of nature out on the basketball court, but the man gave back everything he got and then some. Reports are that he contracted the skin disease that killed him when he was back in Sudan, helping to build a school.

Poeia- 06-25-2010

Pete Quaife of the Kinks died.

fffaw- 06-26-2010

Damn it. :-( My favorite band of all time.

Harvey Pekar has died at the age of 70. For those unaware of him, he was the writer of underground comics detailing his life, which was the basis of the wonderful movie "American Splendor."
