I tried to post this earlier from my Blackberry, but I see it didn't come through. Two deaths to report: Doug Feiger of The Knack and Sci-fi writer Kage Baker have both passed due to cancer. :-(

radiosweetheart- 02-14-2010

The Knack were seemed like they would be eternally young. Probably has something to do with how their big hit was so unquestionably about a relationship with jailbait. Sad.

fffaw- 02-14-2010

And don't forget "Good Girls Don't!" Doug Feiger was also a nice guy. Loved them. I'm currently reading Kage Baker's In the Gardens of Iden. I just discovered her work right before she died. So sad.

Marie Osmond's son commits suicide. I'm beginning to think that T.S. Eliot was wrong. February is the cruelest month.

fffaw- 02-27-2010

Oh man, 18 years old. That's so sad. Also, Andrew Koenig. Another sad story. :-(

Cuddyclothes- 02-28-2010

Poor Andrew Koenig, and I feel so bad for his family. There's a Sondheim song with a competely different context, "Every Day A Little Death," that's been popping into my head every time I see the news.

This fucking blows. http://gawker.com/5487577/sparklehorse-musician-mark-linkous-took-his-life-last-night 2010 is not starting off well.

radiosweetheart- 03-07-2010

That's so damn sad. I saw posts about his death a lot today. He touched a lot of people, too bad nothing could reach him.

Namaste- 03-10-2010

TMZ is reporting that Corey Haim is dead of a drug overdose. (They're citing LAPD, so ...) What a waste.

galaxygirl- 03-10-2010

That's sad, but I can't say I'm shocked. Poor guy.

fffaw- 03-11-2010

Aw, Merlin Olsen died.

Namaste- 03-11-2010

Aw, Merlin Olsen died. So was he Mr. Garvey (Little House on the Prairie), Father Murphy (Father Murphy), one of the Fearsome foursome of the Rams or a football commentator to you? Me,my Dad wasn't a sports fan (go figure), so I knew him first as Jonathan Garvey.

fffaw- 03-11-2010

Well, three out of four above (I'm a bit too young to have watched the Fearsome Foursome in action) and as the FTD dude. I'm pretty sure I first remember him as a commentator (I'm a non-football watcher from a family of football watchers and it was always on in my house.

Here we go. Now we never have to miss another death again. Wikipedia Deaths in 2010 Isn't that cheery.

Chipmunk_love- 03-11-2010

Wikipedia Deaths in 2010 It threw me for a bit of a loop when I found out that Winston Churchill (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winston_Churchill_(1940–2010)) died 2 March at the age of 69. Turns out it was the more famous one's grandson. And now you'll excuse me as I perform the completely pointless task of trying to remember in what relation that would make him to the current Duke of Marlborough.
