Our dear Mr. Barrowman guest starred on Hotel Babylon this week. I haven't seen the episode, but there is an amusing clip up on the Tube of U. Here it is! Hee! Was that the US airing of it or UK?

TITMAN!!!! Oh my God, I love John Barrowman so much. :P

And he played it so campy too - I bet he was a definite highlight of the episode.

AZ, I think that was the UK airing.

Sweet! This just means there's another chance to see it aired in the US.

I just watched episode 12. So, Ianto Jones, that's how you dress when you go out cruising. Niiice.

I just watched episode 12. So, Ianto Jones, that's how you dress when you go out cruising. Niiice. :) I watched it yesterday and I was very impressed with the backstory and the way that it was done. I can't believe there is only one epi left. :(

Finally got to see Episode 12 - AWESOME ep! And yeah, sauty, Ianto was flat out cruising. ;-) How are they going to wind the season up in an hour?!

Hail the Random- 03-27-2008

I don't think they can. Not possible. (Well, probably not possible.)

I watched the last episode again last night, but the continuity bug has bit me. Amazing ep, loved all the backstory, and how none of it was stereotypical of the characters (except Jack). But, what is the official canon now on Torchwood being in Cardiff in that place? It's obvious it's been there longer than Jack has. But, in previous eps, it's been noted to be a disused subway tunnel, that Jack's been there since the 60s, Jack owned it before it was Torchwood, and now this. I'm confused. Why has the Chibnall confused me? I don't like it when the Chibnall confuses me.

But, in previous eps, it's been noted to be a disused subway tunnel, that Jack's been there since the 60s, Jack owned it before it was Torchwood, and now this. Make take is that once Jack gained leadership of TW, he erased all the files about him. Then he basically started fresh and "forgot" about his earlier history with TW. Or is that too much fanwanking? Speaking of Chibnall, why must he abuse Toshiko so? I supposed that I shouldn't blame him. All of the writers have done it. But her characterization makes me a bit uncomfortable because it steers close to the submissive/technogeek Asian stereotype. Chan-tho, from Utopia, was a bit like that too.

Good point, sauty. They all really use Tosh as a punching bag (which really pisses me off). When she was all vixen-y in Adam, it was refreshing.

Hail the Random- 03-28-2008

True. Tosh hasn't had much character at all, other than pining over Owen, that one night thing with Tommy, and believing that she was in love with Adam. (Everything relates to love and sex. That's so Torchwood.)

arizonamyrie- 03-28-2008

Speaking of Chibnall, why must he abuse Toshiko so? RTD himself has admitted to enjoying doing so!!! Yet, she gets the most sex. On top of what you've mentioned HTR, she also had that psycho alien chic in S1. RTD mentions it on some of the stuff on the S1 DVD that she's their punching bag yet gets the most action. And he's even comparing her to Jack in that one. ...once Jack gained leadership of TW, he erased all the files about him. That makes sense. But I didn't realize that they had that type of tunnel digging equipment in the late 1800s. Of course, they could have been using the current TW dungeon as a set for the convenience of not building a new TW set for the ep. So, we know then that he came to Cardiff after 1879, as that's when the Torchwood Institute was founded (DW - S02E02, "Tooth and Claw"). Did we ever get a specific year? Other than the late 19th century (cause that's NOT when it all changes).

Hail the Random- 03-28-2008

Well, Tosh gets the most onscreen action. I'm sure Jack's been getting a lot away from the cameras with Ianto...
