I loved Gwen's interaction with both Rhys and PC Andy. She was actually held accountable for her behavior! I found myself enjoying her in this episode even when I disagreed with her actions.

Exactly. I really liked her in this episode. She's not the whiz kid she thinks she is. She was vulnerable, fallible. It was so good. It made her more human.

I thought we already had direct proof that Jack and Ianto were sleeping together... ;)
*shrugs* Some people like to live in denial.
And that's exactly what I thought about the episode. Gwen wasn't perfect and she wasn't "the heart" - she was so, so much better. So yeah, Chibbers did good.
And who doesn't want their very own Rhys and their very own PC Andy? You know, for hugs and stuff.
fffaw- 03-20-2008
I loved the juxtaposition of the scenes with Gwen and Jonah's mum at the end. That's what started me blatting.

I liked it. My personal favorite is still "A Day in the Death," but this was really good too. I'm going to rewatch it today to see if being awake helps.
I don't know why Jack had to be so secretive about the people being returned from the rift. Had the TW team known, other than Ianto, that big mess could have been prevented. And it's so sad down there too - couldn't Jack have at least brought in a little paint? Nothing says "worn-down nursing home" like chipped paint. At least the aids were caring.
Next week's episode just makes it seem like maybe the spoilers might actually be correct. But if that's the case, maybe Chibnall has a trick up his sleeve. While I believe that the team can be in mortal danger, I think they'll pull through it somehow. <--
sautomne- 03-20-2008
Except for -->two of them. I think they pull through in 12. It's in 13 that Tosh and Owen are supposed to die. Of course it could turn out that they're just "Sci-fi" dead. Oh wait! Owen is already "Sci-fi" dead.<--SPOILER SPEC!

Mmm. Newest issue of the TW magazine came today - with previews for the last three episodes. And ok, we've already seen Adrift, but the preview for Exit Wounds spreads over two pages, which is cool.
Interesting little factoid: originally, Ianto was the one who was going to become Torchwood's Resident Zombie.
As for the spoilers... yeah. I'm withholding judgement till I see the episodes.
arizonamyrie- 03-20-2008
So Jack would have been committing necrophilia?
Hail the Random- 03-21-2008
Well, that was...unexpected.
And I didn't know that Torchwood even HAD a greenhouse. But at least Jack puts it to good use. :D
fffaw- 03-22-2008
So Jack would have been committing necrophilia?
And even Torchwood isn't that groundbreaking...thankfully. ;-)
I love Ianto, making him the zombie would have sucked supremely.

Poodles?
fffaw- 03-22-2008
Poodles?
Good point, but while lusted after, none were actually shagged, unlike Ianto! ;-)

So has anyone here watched episode 12 yet? I think it was on last night. I'm visiting relatives this weekend so I haven't seen it, but LJ is buzzing with everyone's reaction.

just had to pop in to say I envy you all so much. I’m currently making my way thru the TW S1 DVD, something I have wanted to see since first hearing about it at The Other Place. I love it even more than I might have guessed (really though, Russell T. Davies say no more).
Even though I’m just thru GBG I have been reading in here for the latest on S2. As anyone who knows me can attest Spoiler Whore is not only my middle name but often my first and last as well.
In addition to that I have already been at YT and seen all of the choice S2 J/I clips I could get. They are pure love! The perfect alter egos of H/W to be sure. If only someday H/W get to that part of their relationship. I can hardly wait for S2’s DVD.
BTW, I liked Countrycide. I’m an ole X-Filer (duh) and it put me in mind of the creepy, disturbing, Home episode so I dug it.

Oh filey, I can't wait until you see episode twelve, Captain Jack Harkness. Your slash-loving heart will explode.
Have you been able to watch any of S2 on BBCA?
And speaking of slash --I already asked this in the Sci-fi thread-- do any of you guys watch SGA?
