I want to be the science advisor to Torchwood. Think how easy a job it is ("No Mr. Davies, it takes air to speak."). Tell Joss Whedon that too. All those talking vampires in the Buffy universe, and the only time breath came up was when Angel couldn't do mouth to mouth. (And that time that someone "drowned" Spike.)

So that's where they got that idea from. Well, I'd like to do both jobs please!

How the heck can you drown a vampire?

The only thing I don't get is this - Owen couldn't perform mouth-to-mouth because he "had no breath." Yet, he could talk, a lot (and complain a lot), which takes lots of breath as the air vibrates the vocal cords. Yes! Also, if a patient is extremely ill and surrounded by the many monitors and medical equipment, wouldn't there usually be one of those...um...inflatable bags nearby? I don't know the technical name for them... But, you know, the bags that the EMT's squeeze when they're trying to resuscitate someone. I realized that this is Torchwood and, along with the hole in the rift, we must accept the inevitable holes in logic and/or the plot but...ARGHH!! That and how convenient it was that they found this energy source, and that the place was rigged up with heat sensors, and what do you know, Owen is dead, and doesn't give off heat so in you go! Also, since when is Gwen running the show? Jack just seemed to sit there and take direction from her and hardly gave any input as she doled out the assignments.

Also, since when is Gwen running the show? Jack just seemed to sit there and take direction from her and hardly gave any input as she doled out the assignments. I have a theory about Gwen running the show... When Harold Saxon was still PM he sent TW3 to the Himalayas. While there, he also sent an order that the least experienced member of TW3 became its field commander - in this case Gwen. Well, when Saxon is defeated at the end of DW S3, TW3 gets to come home, but they never get an order to reverse Gwen being in charge, so she stays in charge while Jack is gone. So, whenever we see Jack/Gwen, it's all the Master's fault (RTD's in reality). And if you don't know what I mean by Harold Saxon or the Master, Wikipedia has a good description of the arc and whatnot.

Anyhow, I finally got around to see the episode. The preview made me nauseous. What the hell are they doing? Not to mention could Jack be anymore gay? I mean, there's open discussion among the staff about him and Ianto shagging, the whole "When I see a guy in tight jeans running into water, I take pictures" Hello! I know Jack is all 51st century and whatnot, but puh-leese. He seems to certainly be paying more attention to the menz. Hopefully, its some sort of misdirection. Please, G-d, let it be some misdirection! Or maybe it could be like the Wesley-Cordelia kiss! They finally get around to it and they have no chemistry whatsoever (much like Gack - a most appropriate portmanteau in this case) and that's the end of that. Bliss! Oh, Russell T. Davies, why do you want to make me so sad?

I think its called an ambu bag. Am I right, medical peeps? Oh yeah, that's it! As for the preview, I'm hoping it's just another genetic transfer!!!

Grr. I still can't find it. I used to watch them on Stage6, but that shut down.

I literally started screaming. Then started foaming at the mouth at my friend in IM. I mean lord...of all the things to steal from Buffy, you have to steal "*emo* I have no breath!"?!? For gods sake your talking! Screaming! That means you have breath! And it would work better then a human, since you're not using any of the oxygen, your self! *hissy fit* Ok. Ok I'm calm. Calm... *twitch* And after they went to the trouble of, being good and having Owen NOT be hyperventilating like he normally does after running, they have to screw this up. *mutters* Other then that I loved the show episode to death. Of course I'm easy to please as I'm a raging Owen fangirl, so as long as he's there, and being snarky and having UST with Ianto and Jack, I'm a happy fangirl. *smiles happily* And he yelled at Tosh! Maybe she'll back off now and leave him alone...(I like her as a friend, but she's so effing annoying trying to date him!)

Grr. I still can't find it. I used to watch them on Stage6, but that shut down. The San Diego Union Tribune has an article that states that they couldn't keep up with operations costs, and that the DivX company's codec isn't trusted by Hollywood execs because of its early history in pirating video. It couldn't keep up with YouTube. And after they went to the trouble of, being good and having Owen NOT be hyperventilating like he normally does after running, they have to screw this up. I didn't even notice that. Good eye. And you're right Dru - Owen should be the ultimate Human/Zombie Ambu Bag.

Well, there goes Torchwood. Have you guys seen this article about the rumored changes to the next season of Torchwood? *is panicking* No Spoilers. Just rumors about casting changes next season. As well an an overhaul of the Entire. Fucking. Show. http://www.syfyportal.com/news424775.html Notice that there is no mention of Ianto. Poor boy. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. ETA: Wait a minute. I'm pretty sure that -->Burn Gorman has confirmed that he signed on for S3.<--

fffaw- 03-04-2008

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. What absolute shite. Why mess with two shows getting phenomenal ratings? I'm hoping this isn't true.

arizonamyrie- 03-04-2008

Another overhaul? They just got it perfect! What did Chibnall do, take the entire production staff with him? I knew about the rumors about Tennant, and I think Carlyle is just one more in a line of "rumored" Elevens.. And I knew about a lot of main producers at DW leaving, including Julie Gardner. And Chibnall of course, as well as a few others (the DW News thread at the BBC's website has all the info on them). But getting rid of Owen, Tosh, and Jack? NOT GOOD!!!!!<--- I'm assuming though it's all just another rumor. The Powers have really figured out for S2 what TW needed, and followed it. Sure, there are a few WTF moments, but every show has them. Why fix something that works perfectly well? This all works. As for Tennant, I had heard all of those rumors as well. The Sylvester McCoy unofficial fansite has a "projected" breakdown of the next two years of DW as well. ETA - the Sylvester McCoy unofficial site ( http://www.sylvestermccoy.com/ ) also has a lot of info on Torchwood, even though most of the info for TW we've already seen this series.

sautomne- 03-04-2008

After panicking a bit, I am now skeptical about the rumors. They say the DW is already filming the 2009 specials, but AFAIK they're still filming S4. I bet most of the rumors are unfounded.
