Me too Sauty. Or even the Doctor and the Master. But I just found it chilling how similar Marsters portrayed Capt. John to the Master. The conference room? March, is this the conference room in the hub next to Jack's office? I've been watching my S1 discs today as well, so I'm a little confused right now. I think the table might be the same or similar. And the wheelchair in "They Keep Killing Suzie" is the same one used in "Last of the Time Lords." I definitely think John is Jack's version of the Master, March. Old friends, know each other's intimate secrets, probably slept with each other. All that stuff. They parallel so well in the storytelling. Oh, and my mom is awesome/sarcastic. When Jack and John first meet in the bar and stop for a brief moment my mom says, "What are they going to do? Make out?" in a complete sarcastic tone. And of course, they make out. I didn't want to break eye contact from the screen to see her reaction. Good thing my dad wasn't in the room at the time.> ETA - March, I see what you mean with the new conference room. I was mistaken. That is so the Valient! Also, the scene before it as Gwen and Jack were walking through some tunnels - are those the tunnels from the Sec's in the City eps?

Oh, I can't believe it took me so long to notice this thread! Sorry for being late to the Torchwood party. I am a huge fan and loved the season two opener. James Marsters was a terrific villain. I had never seen Buffy nor any of his acting and I thought he was excellent as Captain John. Loved the makeout/fighting scene between him and Jack, the way Jack laughed and taunted him was so kinky. They have a great chemistry together. But the romantic in me wants to see Ianto and Jack together happily ever after. I am hoping they'll give Ianto more screen time in the upcoming episodes.

Someone mentioned on anther site with the makeout/fight scene that it was so out of the ordinary because the hero/villain fight first and make up/out later, not the other way around. Good to see Chibnall break that predictability. I still can't believe that Chibnall wrote this ep!

There's a recap of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang up at Afterelton.com. This part made me giggle: "Okay, so are poking and prodding the dead dude who Spike left behind. Tosh says she can detect “fragments of Rift jelly” on the body. This is news to me. Who knew you need to lube up before penetrating the Rift? Maybe it should be called the space-time Rim." And this sums up my reaction to BossGwen: "WHAT?! They elected Gwen leader?! Wouldn’t just about anyone else at TW3 have more of a claim — not to mention be better qualified — including the Pterodactyl and the severed Hand?" http://www.afterelton.com/TV/recaps/torchwood/201?page=0%2C0 TWoP has some spoilers about episode four that made me want to barf. :x

arizonamyrie- 01-28-2008

Well, the severed hand was gone by this point, even though I'm sure it's spent plenty of quality alone time with both Jack and the Master - maybe even at the same time. And thanks for the link. If I had my coffee in hand, it would have been sprayed all over my computer by now.

That Other Place has some spoilers about episode four that made me want to barf. Argh! Can you give me a link to the spoilers? I can't find them. ETA: Never mind. Found them. Barf.

Ranee- 01-28-2008

Link, please (I'm not so good at finding it ;D)

fffaw- 01-28-2008

It was in the comments section of the After Elton review. That's the only way I found it! ;-) SPOILER LINK - DON'T CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW! http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=3131800&st=5070&p=9632820&#entry9632820

sautomne- 01-28-2008

Sorry --I wasn't trying to taunt you guys about spoilers. I just felt weird about linking to TWoP. I don't know why. On the bright side, -->the episode is written by Catherine Tregenna who wrote what were, IMO, the two best episodes of the first season. On the other hand Jack/Gwen = barf. I realize that I may seem biased (being a slash fan and all) but I don't necessarily have a problem with Jack/female. My problem stems from the fact that Gwen has been put on a pedestal and I don't understand why. She's basically a nice person, but she's just as fucked up as the rest of the Torchwood team. I hate to trot out the 'Mary Sue' label but...<--

arizonamyrie- 01-28-2008

Oh man, thanks for the link. I had heard something to that effect - that Rhys was coming on board to help uncover an alien meat smuggling ring of sorts (the aliens are smuggling, not the meat being alien), and heard mentions of that coming up. Also, isn't Gwen's wedding around episode 6 or so? She discovers she's pregnant with an alien baby, and that's when Jack brings Martha into it? Or is it later, as Freema's site indicated she came along towards the end of the season. One thing is certain - I am waiting for Jack and Rhys to get it on. ETA - As far as Marsters goes, I've heard he's coming back for the Gray storyline(s) which explores Jack's youth, which makes me think Gray is an aunt or sister or something other than a girlfriend. And (speculation) may be why Jack joined the Time Agency - with the ulterior motive to get back Gray. If Gray is the older of the two in Jack's KKBB flashback, then it's a caretaker. If Gray is the younger of the two, which I doubt as I've seen pictures of filming of Young Jack on the "Boeshane Peninsula," then she's a younger sister.

sautomne- 01-28-2008

AZ, have there been spoilers that indicate that -->Gray is a woman? All this time I've been assuming that Gray is a man. Please, no Harkness babies!<--SPOILER SPEC

The pages over there are entirely black! Pages & pages of it! And my eyesight is suffering already from reading the whited out ones here. I've probably missed loads of relevant info

sautomne- 01-28-2008

Do you want us to fill you in on anything?

Ranee- 01-28-2008

No, that's okay, thanks, it just means I've actually got to sit & read it slowly, rather than trying to skim.

radiosweetheart- 01-28-2008

From what I can come up with during my brief skim-thru the spoilers can be summarized thusly (please add your personal brand of sarcastic inflection): "Well, I sure didn't expect that. That's a big surprise. No show would ever go there. I'm shocked. SHOCKED! I tell you!" But I could be wrong. It was a very fast skim.
