I could have written Chipper's post, so ditto.

No ships for me. (If you forced me to pick one, it would be House/Cuddy but not the happily ever after variety.) Same here. I don't ship to anyone and genuinely dislike fan fiction. But if there is to be a romantic pairing between regulars of the show, then House and Cuddy.

jair- 09-07-2008

This poll is a toughie for me: up until the finale, I"d have said House/Wilson, with an acknowledgement that House and Cuddy have lots of attraction and genuine feeling for each other that would be difficult to act on due to their professional relationship. Now, I can no longer see House/Wilson romantically, but can friendshipally, but because I want to see House have a shot at a relationship, I guess I'll put my hopes on some kind of relationship with Cuddy--still can't see the long term there, but then, I'm not sure the writers are headed long term with anything but House/Wilson friendship anyway. Maybe they'll surprise me. House and Cameron played out the way I expected it to, given the relationship I saw: genuine enjoyment of each other's company, but without any wish for a relationship on House's part. No wish to see more of that exploration.

Wilber is my OTP. Just thought that'd be worth mentioning first. :) But with that off the table (*sniffle*), I voted House-Wilson Friendship. As several have mentioned, canon and fanon are different for me. In canon, HW gen (with homoerotic banter, subtext, and flirting; not just to please shippers, but because I just love that kind of relationship) and a sprinkling of Huddy--sexual tension, a fling, nothing long-term--is perfect. Long-term, I don't really want to see any of them (other than Chase/Cam, and maybe something they come up with later, IDK) paired off. I'd like to see House, Wilson, and Cuddy (metaphorically) walking off into the sunset, single and just friends, at the end of the series. The others are up in the air, pairing-wise. The only definite relationshippy thing I want in canon is Wilson/Everyone friendships. He needs the love. LOL. In fanon, though. Wilber's still #1, but I like HW gen AND slash (really, I like them however they come), any and all Wilson pairings, friendship or otherwise, and maybe some Huddy. But I'm very much, very specifically a Wilson fan. So if he doesn't have a major part, paired up or not, then I probably won't read it. Haha. Currently, I'm on a Wilson/Ducklings friendship kick (old, not new. Necessarily). I have DCE to thank for that, with Chase's general awesomeness and Cam's and Foreman's scenes with Wilson. Which makes this partially canon, but whatever. But, FWIW, I don't have anything against any pairing. *shrug* ETA--O HAI. I just realized, this is my first post, isn't it? Lurking+being all too well-acquainted with forums=posting like I've been here forever from the get-go. Srry. Hi. :D

I answered House/other slash only because multiple options weren't available, and only realized while reading the comments that people might mean something else by "ship". It never even occurred to me to consider what I'd want to see in canon. I accept as a given that the studio is going to have entirely different motivations in choosing their material to air than I will in choosing what to read or which colored glasses to wear while watching. I came into House fandom via House/Chase slash, and these days I'm primarily House-Chase friendship and House/OC romantically (mostly slash, but only because I don't know where to find the OFCs worth reading). I went through a H/W phase in between, mostly because of the fanfic, and I still think canon!House is a H/W shipper. But the more eps I saw, the less I believed H/W could ever be functional (without the sort of non-romantic changes in their relationship that I don't expect to ever see in canon). I would like to see him with someone, though, and since I no longer see any of the canon characters as appropriate options, I'm left scavenging for the rare OCs!

EverybodyLies- 09-27-2008

I am Huddy 100%. :>

jdr1184- 10-05-2008

I have tried branching out and reading fics in some of the other ships, but House/Wilson is my first love. There are some really well written fics in the other ships, but I tend to only read the ones that have House or Wilson hovering in the background as either UST or in a relationship.

DOB1234- 10-05-2008

I've never understood why the House/Cameron ship never went anywhere. Yes, I know many of you didn't like her, and it's not like I ever thought it would end up in a long, or even medium, term relationship, but I can't figure out why TPTB never had House 'hit that'. Am I suppose to believe, after all the things he has pulled over the years, that House is too moral/ethical/wise to ever follow up with a beautiful young woman who was ready, willing, and able? I just don't understand why there wasn't at least a ONS between those two. Oh, and Bedawyn, there are several groups of writers that post House/OC fanfic over on the Fox forum. Some OK. Some very good.

Am I suppose to believe, after all the things he has pulled over the years, that House is too moral/ethical/wise to ever follow up with a beautiful young woman who was ready, willing, and able? I just don't understand why there wasn't at least a ONS between those two. I think House was wise enough to know that Cameron is a handful who runs with the bit in her teeth, and unless he wanted to get into a full fledged relationship with her, he should stay the heck away. And as Foreman said way back in season one during the date arc, House wasn't in to her that way. Also House does have ethics in this area. Much as he was attracted to Alli, who also presented herself on a platter, he did end up with that lovely Casablanca scene when he pushed her away. And he didn't call her in six months.

LightMyCandle- 10-05-2008

I just don't understand why there wasn't at least a ONS between those two. Mostly what jair said. Cameron got herself way too emotionally attached to House to an (IMHO) unhealthy degree for a long time. If House had slept with her with the intention of a ONS, I don't for a second believe she would leave it at that. She already had ridiculous and thin theories about why House must love her, if he slept with her, that would have only fueled her belief that he must love her. He didn't love her and he was not interested in pursuing a relationship with her. He's not an idiot and sleeping with her would only further complicate things and make her cling to him and obsess over him even more than she already was, YMMV. Plus, they worked together, I don't see House having a ONS with an employee that he knows wants more than that. And now, I really think she has moved on (please don't let her backslide in that area) and I never thought he wanted a relationship with her anyway, at least he hasn't given me the impression in S4 or any of S5 so far that he's pining for her or even thinking about her.

jair- 10-06-2008

Unsurprisingly, we agree! The only caveat I'd add is that I do see House being open to having a friendship with Cameron--I see no pining or wishful thinking on his part, but I do see that he enjoys the time he does see her, for the most part. The friendship "ship" is still afloat.

deelaundry- 10-06-2008

I can see the friendship "ship" for House and Cameron, too. As of S4 and S5, she seems to like the challenge of going up against him, and I think she'd be honored to have him think of her as a friend. She also can be as ruthless as House in her own way, for the goals she has.

Manu- 03-14-2009

House/Cuddy and House/Wilson friendship for me.

valekitarrist- 03-14-2009

I adore House&Cameron

sdemar- 03-14-2009

House and Cuddy all the way. They're scenes together I tend to watch multiple times. Also love the friendship between House and Wilson but don't see any underlying gay tendencies between them. I can't picture anyone else portraying Wilson the way that RSL does. He rocks.
