Poor guy, that's horrible.
eta: also, I will always laugh at the "it's not lupus" joke. Other things I will always laugh at: people running into glass doors, people falling out of the screen and popping back up as if nothing has happened and any and all references to "ass dan". I'm so easy that way.
RIP, Ass Dan. ::makes sad little "whoop whoop" motion::
Thanks for the video!
What is "ass dan"?
He's a character from a Saturday Night Live sketch.
Ass Dan died while you were explaining who Ass Dan is.
TMZ did the story on the show tonight and had footage of Kal getting caught by paparazzi (one random guy, from the looks of it) doing the faux concern "is everything okay????" nonsense. He smiled and said he was fine. It was dark. And he was walking up his stoop. I know that the TMZ guy is ultimately harmless (sort of) but maybe you shouldn't follow a guy home in the dark if you know for certain that he was just mugged a couple of nights ago. Just sayin'.
TMZ guy wanted his ass kicked into next Tuesday, that's the only reason to ambush a recently robbed guy.
A few thoughts on the robbery from the OnionTime magazine "humor" columnist Joel Stein writes what I think was supposed to be a Colbert-like satire about the Indian population in his hometown in New Jersey. Unfortunately he missed satire by a long, long, long shot.
New Jersey native
Kal Penn is not amused.
Go Kal!
Huffington Post includes Kal Penn among its Game Changers for 2010:
Changed the game by ... trading Hollywood glamour for the hard work of governing. Penn, an actor who starred in "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" and "House," took a leave from the movie star life in 2009 when he joined the Obama administration as Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement. Life in D.C. for him was no different than that of any other low-level staffer; he coordinated outreach to the Asian-American and arts communities, among other responsibilities. In June, he finished his stint in the administration to get back into acting. Up next: A new Harold and Kumar movie, possibly in 3-D.
Fun fact: Penn might never have taken the job if not for the television writers’ strike of 2007-2008. With no new filming for the Fox show "House," Penn had a lot of free time, and spent it stumping around the country for Obama. He eventually made 175 stops in 26 states.

Kal Penn is going to be on Craig Ferguson on Thursday, August 25
Well that's weird. My post disappeared.
It was to note that Kal just recorded a "Car In A Reasonably Priced Car" bit for the UK (original recipe all the way!) version of Top Gear. He tweeted a photo of him with the Stig
here.
