J to the Mo (SPOILERS) Enter at yr own risk!
Okay, people need a place to discuss the recent spoilers about JMo. And so the discussion doesn't dominate the regular spoiler discussion thread, you can use this place. So knock yourselves out, but please, chill on the libelous, conspiracy theory-style comments. If you get too out of control, we'll shut it - and you - down.

It's so disappointing for me because Cameron has always been my favorite duckling. I'm hoping that her departure is only temporary and the silence from all parties involved is because they don't want to give away plot developments...

fffaw- 09-27-2009

I sincerely hope so as well. As I said in another thread, I think that Ausiello might have said something without having all the details and created all this uproar. It would be nice if she stayed.

angelcat2865- 09-27-2009

I think that Ausiello might have said something without having all the details and created all this uproar. I believe you are right there. I have read nothing to make me think that she won't and/or can't come back. "House" as a show seems to have an infamously hard time with spoiler leaks and I think DS probably clamped down on further information about Cameron and JMo to try and keep some of the show's plot lines secret for now.

wackjob- 09-27-2009

I hope that you're right, angelcat2865. It's so hard to imagine "House" without Cameron, leaving us only with the void that is Thirteen. (Not counting Cuddy, just ducklings.) I feel like I've been upset all out of proportion, but when you love a show for five seasons, the premiere is, how you say, not to your taste, and now this, you wonder if "House" has jumped the proverbial shark.

Aleki77- 09-28-2009

I really don't understand "the (real) cause" for that decision: it seems a spite to me. House without Cameron is empty. The writers have ruined her character trough the last two seasons and now they write her off! Also the unknowledge about her possible return is a nonsense. With the premiere the writers seemed able to write more great stories again, now I don't think it so.

I'm just afraid that the talk of returning for an episode means she'll come back and make up with Chase and then they'll give him the boot too.

Noa- 09-28-2009

I'm just afraid that the talk of returning for an episode means she'll come back and make up with Chase and then they'll give him the boot too. That would be cruel. I have read in an Australian online magazine some time ago that JS has signed a three years contract in 2008. As long as he wants to be on the show, he should not be kicked out so easily. Which makes me wonder about JMo. If she has had a contract, why would it be so easy to write her out of the show? To me it does seem likely that she actually didn't mind leaving... but, of course, I'm only guessing.

I was not a big fan of Cameron's character. But as a Chaser (well, I used to be a Chaser... I don't know if we still exist) I totally get the frustration caused by this information. Right now, it's so unclear. Maybe DS&co are using this news to bring some "fans" back . I, for one, will be back because I really like Chase's character and I think it could be a huge opportunity to have more of him (well... let me dream a little). But, I don't think they needed that buzz so I tend to think it wasn't done really nicely. As I said, it could be really a huge opportunity for Chase's character. Of all the old ducklings, he is the one (for me) who grew up the most. Well, Cameron did change too... but it was not that contrasted. All the things I read (the spoiler is huge but we don't have that much material) Chase will listen to House!! That's a huge step backward isn't it? It's going to be interesting to analyse Chase's world and how her departure will hurt him (even if he is responsible). He lost his mother in still vague circomstances , his estranged father died without really making peace with him, then House fired him while Chase was always on his side.. he found some stability with Cameron and now (I mean soon) all will be over. I really hope they won't screwed that, JS can be amazing. I'm just afraid that the talk of returning for an episode means she'll come back and make up with Chase and then they'll give him the boot too. I must admit that I don't think it's that bad. At least, it won't be something à la seasons 4 and 5. If Cameron come back and Chase leave or not (with her), at least we will have some closure. No Chase is better than seasons 4 and 5 Chase (for me). Don't get me wrong, of course I see that as an opportunity for Chase, but I don't think it's a good idea. It's weird but I also think Cameron is a good balance for the show. During three seasons, I wasn't very fond of her but when you look around the cast, she is a better image of a woman than any 13 or even Cuddy. I'm still wishing for more Chase so I take whatever they give me.

melly- 09-28-2009

As primarily a Chase fan, I feell rather conflicted by this shocker. On the one hand, it could be set up as a great opportunity to explore Chase's darker issues, but 1.) I don't really trust TPTB to really do that, and 2.) it's not a good thing (for me anyhow) to think that no character is safe from the axe. I am going to miss Cameron as she was the only female character I felt anything at all for last season. Thirteen never grew on me, and Cuddy's devolved into a nightmare. I really feel for those fans who stuck it out for the last 2 seasons only to have Cam yanked away completely. I hope it's temporary and she's back soon. There are still some things that I don't quite get about the spoiler: Namely, if the reason they decide to run is Chase's "dodgy doctoring" why does Cam still run even after Chase decides to stay? Guess we'll get a better idea next week.

I have read in an Australian online magazine some time ago that JS has signed a three years contract in 2008. As long as he wants to be on the show, he should not be kicked out so easily. As far as I understand Hollywood contracts (which is very much second-hand), that's not the case. The terms essentially say that the actor has to be available to act for the show as long as the terms state - the production/studio side has to *pay* the actor for the contracted period, but is under no obligation to feature them at all. So, they can write someone out as long as they're willing to pay the agreed salary - JM and JS probably got their regular fees over the last two seasons that they barely appeared in. Which is not to say that they will write anyone else out, as I obviously have no real idea, but they could.

Ariadne- 09-28-2009

It depends on the contracts JS and JM got. Some specify the actors are paid only for the episodes in which they appear. If that's the case, JM didn't earn much because she appeared in only 13 of the 24 episodes in season 5. JS appeared in more but had less to do. Maybe DS&co are using this news to bring some "fans" back . I, for one, will be back because I really like Chase's character and I think it could be a huge opportunity to have more of him They could have brought both Chase and Cameron fans back by keeping her on the show as well and giving them both more to do. I think the loss of Cameron fans who were hanging in because Shore promised she would be back ouweighs the number of former viewers who came back because Chase is back on the team. If this is a public relationship stunt, it back-fired. I don't think it is though. I think Cameron is gone for good. Shore never admits when he's made a mistake, he just gets more adamant that he's knows what's best for the audience.

Poeia- 09-28-2009

The contracts are very one-sided. The actor commits to being available but the show can get rid of them whenever they want. And, of course, the show can be canceled. Famous case - when Roger Moore left James Bond, the producers wanted Pierce Brosnan but the producers of Remington Steele decided to keep producing the show even though the network had dropped it. He had to turn down Bond, they made one episode of RS and stopped and Timothy Dalton got to be Bond. (It turned out okay for Brosnan because he became the next bond after that.)

angelcat2865- 09-28-2009

Chase will listen to House!! That's a huge step backward isn't it? Not necessarily, House has been know to give out good advice to his fellows on more than one occasion. For all we know House convinces Chase to stay in hopes that Cameron would stay too, because as we all know House hates change.

LogicalLilly- 10-01-2009

With Ausiello's spoiler (from the Spoiler Thread) confirming that JMo's trailer is cleaned out, it doesn't appear that she will return. According to Ausiello, she is still under contract this season, so why, why, WHY would they get rid of her at this point? It seems very insulting to me. Maybe Jennifer's trailer is cleaned out so TPTB can move some other new "hot" girl like Olivia Wilde onto the show. Perhaps one of the Kardashians is available...
