Hail the Random- 01-06-2008

Dr. Who made it into the Top 25 Sci-Fi movies and TV shows in the last 25 years. (It came 23rd) As did Quantum Leap(22nd).

I'm surprised Doctor Who didn't make it further. It's its own entity practically, and it's been around since the 60s (more in UK). It's as big as Star Trek and Star Wars. I've seen other polls online which rank it higher. QL should have definitely been higher. And though I like Futurama, I don't think it should have been on the list at all. My top ten via EW's list: 10.) Terminator franchise 9.) Firefly/Serenity 8.) Heroes, Lost 7.) Quantum Leap 6.) Battlestar Galactica franchise 5.) X-Files franchise 4.) (tie)ET, Back to the Future franchise 3.) The Matrix franchise 2.) Star Wars franchise 1.) (tie) Doctor Who franchise, Star Trek franchise

I'm surprised Doctor Who didn't make it further. It's its own entity practically, and it's been around since the 60s (more in UK). Well, if it's an American group doing the ranking, I can see it. Most Americans just don't get it. (I am one, so I'm allowed to say such things.) To the vast majority of my countrymen, Doctor Who is nothing more than a weird guy in a scarf, and maybe a Dalek or three. You have to go across the pond (or know some sci-fi geeks) to realize what a phenomenon it is.

Or be an anglophile. As a kid, I didn't watch it, I watched ST:TNG. But I was aware of Doctor Who, and had some familiarity with it. So when I realized that this "Doctor Who" that everyone was talking about online was the same "Doctor Who" I heard about as a child (but my dad refused to rent anything for me to see it), I did a major squee and a long happy dance.

Does Ashes to Ashes count as sci fi? For fun, let's say it does. Scroll down for the best amazon.com review I've read since I spent Christmas eve reading reviews of the Bic Crystal Ball Point Pen

I love Glenister, but it'll be difficult to watch the Guv without Sam Tyler.

There's not even a premiere date yet. Why it's available for pre-order confuses the heck outta me. Crazy British type peoples. The Guv needs his Sammy. But I'll give it a chance. Curiosity being what it is and all.

Yeah. Goodness. I'm all a-flutter. *g*

Hey, where is everyone? :stomps foot: I have SGA spoilers for Quarantine Rodney & John being idiots Oh good Lord. "Rodney & John being idiots" covers it so well.

Anybody watching Terminator: The Sara Connor Chronicles? It's interesting so far, although I'm not sure how this will work out as a series yet.

March301- 01-15-2008

I got Gwen. Great, everyone hates me. Well, it's okay because I get the Jack and Gwen learning-to-shoot-a-gun-pr0n-session. :P I am not Gwen, dammit!

Ranee- 01-15-2008

If anyone missed the Terminator pilot & wants to see it, US iTunes is offering a free download this week.

Namaste- 01-23-2008
