I'll admit I don't watch DWTS, but I thought it was interesting to read
this Washington Post article in which they note that the producers have never revealed the formula which determines who is "voted off."
If, as the article insinuates, Bristol's been kept around through the use of this secret formula for ratings reasons, it really does seem like they've hurt themselves in the long run. Not that a mirror ball ever really meant anything before, but still ...
I've been fed up with DwtS's antics since last year's finale, in which stuff went down that planted me very firmly on the grassy knoll.
I wanted Gilles to win badly and he didn't, I could live with that because Shawn had a big fan base and almost no one knew Gilles at the time. I didn't care about the next season, but could totally understand why Donny Osmond won. But Nicole last year? Yeah, so many shenanigans went on on both finale nights that as an Evan fan, it was hard to go back to the show after that.
If I remember correctly (and I'm still bitter about last season, so I might be wrong) we, the viewer, get to vote on Monday. Our votes count for 50% of the total. The three stooges get to give marks on BOTH finale nights and their marks count for the other 50%. You can vote over the phone and on the ABC site and you can create as many e-mail addresses as you want because you don't actually have to validate the addresses.
Brandy was robbed. Kurt Warner was robbed. Rick Fox was robbed. Briston Palin should have been gone a long time ago and I really think she will win and she will think she deserved to win.
Lastly, one of the judges(CAI I think) has said that one person's 9 isn't the same as the next person's 9. They use different criteria to score everyone instead of using the same on everyone, which is how Bristol has been over scored since the beginning.
It's just a stupid tacky mirror ball trophy, I have no idea why I care to begin with.
I think Castle is growing on me. This is the second time I've remembered to watch it when it was on rather than catching it on my computer later. As a result, this is the second time I've see The Bachelor (with the sound off.)
WTF am I watching -- an orgy? Does he sleep with each of these women?
I've never really seen the point of these Bachelor type shows, I usually catch the highlights in The Soup. From what Joel is telling me, you're probably right about the orgy part.
I caught a few seconds of the end of the Bachelor last night. It looked like an episode of All My Children, only with lower production values and less societal value.
