It's a Drag Watching Porn on VHS: House on DVD
I took the chance and started a DVD thread (will I be banned now? Oh dear, I hope not). The title is courtesy of Poeia. S3 DVDs are shipping all over the US -- and blooper screencaps etc. are available in the place that shan’t be mention (post 683 in the Girls Gone Wild thread) until they're removed by a crazy mod. I heard rumours of an Australian release sometime in September and the UK release date is Nov. 4.

I took the chance and started a DVD thread (will I be banned now? Oh dear, I hope not). The title is courtesy of Poeia. Nah, we'll probably just beat you. Maybe half a dozen strokes with a flame cane. According to the official rule in the FAQ: Can I start new threads? If the topic does not fit into any previously established thread, then yes. If you have any question as to whether or not the topic fits somewhere else feel free to PM a mod or other in-the-know type person. With regards to games in the Cafeteria, let's try not to start so many that the board gets cluttered. This topic certainly qualifies.

Has anyone else ordered the DVDs from Amazon US? The release date is August 21, but they have my shipping date listed as August 27. I'm not terribly happy about that. Many times I've gotten stuff from them alot earlier - does anyone else have the same shipping date listed?

I did (because I'm a notorious cheapskate) but I've noticed that tends to delay shipping than paying for priority shipping.

For those outside the US, if you have multi-regional DVD players, DVDWorldUSA is where I bought my House S3 from. They're very good (and ship everywhere, I believe).

I did (because I'm a notorious cheapskate) but I've noticed that tends to delay shipping than paying for priority shipping. I bought ABOFAL S3-4 from them with free shipping. I have an Amazon credit card and keep earning $25 credits which made it really cheap. They sat on it for 7 days before mailing it. When I wrote to complain they said that's how free shipping works -- it gets mailed within 5-7 days so they can find the cheapest way to ship it. I understand it for things that are in stock but I pre-ordered over a month in advance. That should have given them plenty of time to find cheap shipping. My guess is that they do it on purpose so people will pay for shipping.

Man, I always pay for shipping on Amazon. It takes forever anyway and I'm insanely impatient. My lack of money makes no difference to me, apparently.

Yay! My season 3 DVDs just arrived! So much for essay writing this weekend.

That's usually how it works. However, they will ship things next day for people who have a strong buying history with Amazon. Man, I want my Season 3 DVDS already, but I have to wait, they are a birthday gift :(

Man, who do I have to fuck to convince them that I actually DO have a strong history of buying with Amazon? I regularly order 2-3 times/month. And I really think that the pre-ordering thing should count for something.

fffaw- 08-17-2007

I just did that - thanks Trooper. I"m so used to choosing the Super Saver that I never look at the other options. It was only $2.98 for standard shipping and since I'm in NYC, I get that super quick - usually 1-2 days.

TrooperCam- 08-17-2007

I agree Bailey, pre-ordering should count but it is actual orders placed and shipped that count more. It's a suck system. I have had stuff ship the next day I have had stuff ship two months later(hello Adadis on that one). Generally I find that if you place your order on a Sunday then it is shipped that Monday or Tuesday and orders that are placed early in the day are shipped the next day. Back on topic. What is Angry Valley Girl Clip?

March301- 08-17-2007

Back on topic. What is Angry Valley Girl Clip? Well, you know how Lisa Eidelstein and Jennifer Morrison like to get their Valley Girl voices on every so often. I would imagine it's much like the segments they've done in the past, except angry. *g* Basically LE and JM redo a scene, but in Valley Girl voices. Much hilarity ensues. There are others on the DVD features. I can't remember all the episode names, but there's one scene where Cuddy picks up a newspaper and goes, "This is, like, so complicated." (Don't know if you knew all of that already or not, I'm just covering all my bases, just in case.) ;)
