Heh. Steve Martin's tour rider "leaked" here. Beginning two (2) hours prior to performance, Steve's dressing room must have trophy delivered every ten (10) minutes. A friend of mine who's done sound for a number of touring bands over the years collects these. (And of course smokinggun.com has several to be viewed as well.) Chris's favorite is one that states that the venue must supply a sound tech. Who can hear. And speak. And understands English. And has training. And is not incapacited by alcohol. Or drugs. Says Chris, "You just know that poor band has run into every one of those situations at one time or another, often enough that they felt it necessary to make that clear."

As if I needed another reason to find Steve Martin charming. I feel bad for the poor touring bands that get the suond techs that you just KNOW are only employed because they were crashing on the bartender's couch and the bartender got them a job so that they might move off the couch, but instead all that happened was now they have to commute to work together and the poor bartender is pretty sure he's never gonna be rid of the guy. I feel bad for everyone involved in that scenario.

I did not even know that these guys existed, but I love Britain even more right now. Plus, the singer has a really good voice!
