We didn't hear a "Jimmy" in S3, did we?
Bonnie also called him "James", and interestingly House still referred to him as "Wilson" while talking to her.

Also on the Wilson front ... in "Daddy's Boy," it's specifically House's father that calls Wilson "Wilson," which makes sense for a military man. Blythe never said Wilson's name. (For fic purposes, I had her call him James, since I would imagine him introducing himself as James, just as he did in "Airborne." Well, not precisely as in Airborne. Hope he doesn't think of House's mother as a hooker, anyway.)

New annoying question for yuo guys to research:
Besides Stacy, his parents and Foreman's old boss(and maybe Cuddy), has anyone House 'Greg'?
Namaste- 08-28-2007
The therapist during "Words & Deeds," called him Greg.
His old buddy Crandall called him G-Man (when he called him anything at all) so I'd guess that at some point back then, House was going by "Greg" a little more often.

I'd be particularly interested to know if Cuddy does, given their past and the fact that it seems to be the wives & girlfriends that use the first names.
I can't actually recall an occasion when Cuddy calls House 'Greg' - except when she's mimicking Stacy in that Southern accent.
Supplementary question: do House and/or Wilson call her 'Lisa'???

House never called Cuddy 'Lisa'. Of that I'm sure.

Here's a quick and easy one. (In my defence, I'm a brit):-
What exactly is a Reuben?
elesecks :?
saara_zaara- 08-31-2007
Hi, elesecks, welcome to the forum! Brit here too & I had no idea either first time I was offered one. Description is here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reuben_sandwich
IIRC House likes his dry i.e. no dressing.
RNwannabe- 08-31-2007
A Reuben is my sandwich. I, too, take it dry.
For many years, now, my barometer for judging a new diner is the quality of their Reuben. I don't even look at the menu.
"I'll have a Reuben with none of that crappy dressing on it, if they do that here" (many places don't).
It brings me joy to know that House and I would be at home in the same diner!
radiosweetheart- 08-31-2007
While I love a reuben and certainly judge the quality of an eatery on the presence of the reuben on the menu, I am more likely to do a dance of joy at the discovery of a really dandy French Dip with potato wedges (pub fries?) and delicious au jus for dipping.
And no lettuce. If I wanted lettuce I'd order a salad. I'm talking to you TGI Fridays!
Mmmmm.....sammich....Obviously, that piece o' toast I had for breakfast wasn't sufficient.
Here-I'll do it myself:
:off topic:

Reubens are tasty, but I like mine with dressing... and a pickle on the side.
Here's a question that was hopefully not brought up before: how often has Wilson referred to House as his 'best friend'? And how often has House done the same thing? It seems to me that House has called Wilson his best friend more often, thought that might have been facetiously?
hwshipper- 08-31-2007
Hi elesecks! *waves to fellow Brit*
how often has Wilson referred to House as his 'best friend'? And how often has House done the same thing?
I really hope someone with all the transcripts in Word can give us chapter & verse on this, as I'd really like to know. I have the impression House has called Wilson his best friend several times - but I'm hard pushed to remember when.
Only specific time I can think of is Resignation:
Wilson: 'You dosed me!'
House: 'yes, but only because you didn't trust me, your best friend!'
Jouse- 08-31-2007
House also said to Bonnie that Wilson is his best friend, in HT.
I don't think Wilson has ever said it about House though. And my reasoning for this is better suited in the HoYay thread ;)

He tells Bonnie that Wilson is his best friend in "House Training". He also mentions it during "Honeymoon" (I think) when talking to Wilson about Stacy. He says something to the effect of "my bestest buddy doesn't think I should be near her."

Is there actually any such thing as a Diagnostics department? AFAIK, no such department exists. Infectious diseases get turfed over to ID when Internal Medicine can't figure them out, but "diagnostic medicine" is usually pathology and radiology.
Nobody in the hospital I work at has ever heard of it, and my searches on The Google are coming up as dry as a good Reuben...anyone know?
