Wow--what a sucky day, JB! I'm glad you're okay.

JenButterfly- 09-27-2007

off topic Jen! You're back! *bounces with joy* Edited by ENB to remove derogatory remarks. But that all sounds quite bad, are you totally & completely allright again?? I do hope so! For the most part yeah. The electrocution, well, for the most part I'm okay again. Edited by ENB to remove derogatory remarks. Dear me, Jen. I hope you're doing better and that there was no lasting damage. Some lasting damage. Wow--what a sucky day, JB! I'm glad you're okay. Thanks. What happened was this. My friend works as a lab tech in one of the computer labs. One of the sub labs in there was closed down for installation of new computers. I was chilling in there with him, during my off hour, and helping him set up. I went to plug a new computer into an outlet and, since it wasn't grounded, I got the bejesus shocked out of me. I landed on my back (I didn't fly across the room, was just knocked off my feet) and Matt was standing over me. I insisted I was okay, but he insisted on taking me to the school clinic. There they looked me over and said "Ma'am, you really need to go to the hospital." So Matt automatically took the rest of the day off and took me to the doc. I was there for observation for three hours. I was having heart palpitations at first, which is what scared them, but it soon went away. I do have some damage still, as far as my finger (the part that got the actual shock) goes. There's a nasty electric burn on it. Ears also ring a little (not the high pitched ring, but the other kind. You know, if you hit a pair of tweezers on the edge of something then hold it up to your ear and listen carefully, that's what I hear constantly right now.) Other than that, I'm good. The plus, well, my doc was a House fan. So when he came in to check on me (really nice man, he'd stay and chat for a good ten minutes each time) we played DDx on old episodes. It rocked.

lothos- 09-27-2007

Yeah, but I'm only lurking here and at the DDx thread. To tell you the truth, if I didn't have as many friends here that I do, I'd be gone for good. That's a lot of why I didn't register here right away. I was lurking here for a couple of weeks and it seems like most of the people are really sweet and nice but then I see a post like you make and I wonder if this is the kind of place I want to spend time at. I guess I'll just lurk more and try to decide if this is the place for me. Hi everybody, anyway! Edited by ENB (removed quoted post language).

Hi, lothos, nice to meet you - the vast majority of us are very nice, come over to the introductions thread & say hi to everyone else & you'll see.

Yikes, JB. Hope you feel better soon. I learned today that my neuroscience class is actually going to involve dissecting a human brain. I'm not sure if I'm going to be good at that or not. I'm usually cool with blood, but...brains?

sautomne- 09-27-2007

Write a story about oldies and their pension rights or Go get Boston Legal 2 on DVD and sit back with a glass of wine..? You probably should write a story about the oldies. I imagine they need all the help they can get. But I'll be eeeevil and tell you to watch Boston Legal and drink up!

Hibernia- 09-28-2007

Now fill me in - should I: Wash the very smelly shitzu Clean the bathroom Write a story about oldies and their pension rights or Go get Boston Legal 2 on DVD and sit back with a glass of wine..? Tough choice eh? Being the people's person (well, sheep, really, but "people's sheep" sounds just weird) you are, undoubtedly you're going to write about oldies...

Now fill me in - should I: Wash the very smelly shitzu Clean the bathroom Write a story about oldies and their pension rights or Go get Boston Legal 2 on DVD and sit back with a glass of wine..? Tough choice eh? If you're still up for washing a smelly shitzu, I've got one you can borrow for that as well. But I hope that watching Boston Legal 2 with smelly shitzu nearby was fun. That's what I would have done. I ended up of all things at uni last night. I didn't have class, I didn't even get to see The Tempest - I sat in two separate lecture pits listening to the first four weeks of the semester being summarized by my profs. And strangely, I rather enjoyed it. And vitawash, that class actually sounds really cool! ETA - Coding is good!

Wash the very smelly shitzu Clean the bathroom Write a story about oldies and their pension rights or Go get Boston Legal 2 on DVD and sit back with a glass of wine..? Tough choice eh? Does Lucy want a bath? If so, wash her so you 2 can sit and watch Boston Legal together.

Now fill me in - should I: Wash the very smelly shitzu Clean the bathroom Write a story about oldies and their pension rights or Go get Boston Legal 2 on DVD and sit back with a glass of wine..? Tough choice eh? Wash the shitzu and then clean the bathroom (it'll need it after a dog wash) - take her to the store for Boston Legal and sit down to watch while jotting down the story about pension rights...and then you should work on finding the answers to world peace and global hunger – oh, and see if you can do something about that pesky cure for cancer too. High expectations? Who, me?! Never!

galaxygirl- 09-28-2007

And on a completely different note I got to see Boston Legal. I love the Brit chick with the giant nose. Now fill me in - should I: Wash the very smelly shitzu Clean the bathroom Write a story about oldies and their pension rights or Go get Boston Legal 2 on DVD and sit back with a glass of wine..? Tough choice eh? Ooh, though one. Hmmmm...I vote Denny Crane. Do you have season 3 yet? I was picking out mr GG's birthday present and I managed to end up with BL season 2&3. I wanna head butt someone, just like Jerry ;) Taken this post from the HoYAy thread, due to total off-topic-ness and will get more off-topic as I write lol: totally OT, but do I remember correctly that you watch Numb3rs? Are you as excited as I am about the premiere, with Val Kilmer *squee, fan girl moment* You are correct and I am SO excited it's not even funny. Val Kilmer! He was so hot in Tombstone (which incidentally I found fairly slashy) and he completely stole the movie IMO. Something about pale and sickly but still bad*ss is hot. I'm really worried about Colby though, he's my favorite and I'm glad they gave him such an awesome storyline but I'm really nervous about where they're going with this. OMG!! That was probably my second favorite finale of the season(after Lost, for which I also was unspoiled). I was so glad I remained unspoiled, the shock was huge for me when it all came together. It's so strange to watch reruns now, knowing what we know now about Colby. I hope that they can redeem Colby in some way. Mr GG doesn't watch Numb3rs, but for Val Kilmer he's willing to make an exception. I'm also excited that Tony Scott is directing the season opener, he's the reason Kilmer is guest starring. Next on the list, Ridley Scott directing (I can dream)

I threw the shitzu into the swimming pool (sort of a wash - what? - she can swim), worked on the oldie thing and watched some hilarious BL. A win win situation I think! Actually I lied: the Shitz is still very smelly. Have you ever tried getting the smell of wet Shitzu off you - especially when they just love to sit on your bath towels if they can get to them? Some people will know what I am talking about. They are cute with their giant googly eyeballs and all, but combined with their love of rubbing their eyeballs all over your bathtowels and their overly possesive Shitzu syndrome it can get very smelly.

You've also described what it is like to give an overly possessive Cocker Spaniel a bath. Trust me. I speak from experience. My pup thinks I'm her own personal towel. I also have a bloodhound. She always smells, no matter what. It's especially awful in the summer.
