I can't remember the last time I was proud of being a Yi...ehm...Spurs supporter. 1991, for me. I remember it distinctly!

Spurs? Really? My cousin supports Spurs and he's already been trying to get his younger brother to convert. My aunt and myself are working on getting the kid to stick with West Ham (LOL, that's right - I'm from the 'rough' part of town). Everything Mourinho-related is making me laugh, though. In other news, first pictures of the Sex and the City movie - as in, it's actually happening. With everyone involved (although, I'll never be able to look at Jason Lewis again without thinking of Teh Hawt Man Secks on Brothers and Sisters - not that I'm complaining ). Words cannot express my happiness right now...

Hey, we beat Famagusta 6-1 tonight so maybe the proud is coming back. Or would be if thumping a small...Greek, I think, club was cause for celebration.

Hey, we beat Famagusta 6-1 tonight so maybe the proud is coming back. Or would be if thumping a small...Greek, I think, club was cause for celebration. Every win should be cause for celebration. Take it from the wife of a Chicago Cubs fan. They were from Cyprus, and it's a good result. 8) My favorite local team didn't even make it into Europe due to a very bad season last year. We're doing just fine so far in the competition.

hwshipper- 09-21-2007

Yeah, I can feel the proud!

My cousin keeps trying to get me to watch Manchester United. :D PS: Whee. I am sick.

And now for something completely different: Carrying this over from the intro thread... Hey sweet fern are you a Carter Family fan as your handle suggests? Hope we can meet in the Hizzy at some point to chat about their fine music and interesting stories. (Know the one about Sara and Maybelle buying Indians?) I would never have believed anyone else would know that song!!!! I am a big fan but I don't know that story. If I ever find time to wade over to the Hizzy, I look forward to hearing it. So, sweet fern the story is that with their new success and money from radio back in the 30's, Sara and Maybelle Carter both bought brand new Indian motorcycles. Kind of an odd mental picture: the ultimate country music family band tooting around the hills on their motorcycles! If you're into this stuff, check out http://www.carterfamilyfold.org/links.htm The story is in the very good Carter Family bio Will you miss me when I'm gone?

My cousin keeps trying to get me to watch Manchester United. :D PS: Whee. I am sick. Yay, I'm such a Manchester United fan, from way back when King Eric was still playing there. Right now, my favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo. Sorry you're sick :(

Hail the Random- 09-21-2007

Argh. I remember when I watched the 2006 FIFA World Cup, how EVERY SINGLE GAME that had Cristiano Ronoldo in it, they constantly talked about him. Like every 30 seconds,"...and he missed the goal! And he passes to CR, who, by the way..." I am also in posetion of my very own MU uniform, coutesy of my cousin. ETA: :crying: My mom stepped on my 3-prong Home Edicts vibrating massager and it broke into 3.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted about trying to get tickets to two of the ten Jovi shows in Newark and seeing the best tickets selling for over $8000 each. Well, I've been radomly checking Ticketmaster. They released more tickets in the past 24 hours because I wound up getting really awesome tickets for both nights! I mean, these are the kind of seats that I'd give anything to be able to pull up on Ticketmaster when I'm doing presales and general onsales and all that crap. They're not floor, but they are lower level and close to the stage without an obstructed view. Heh... maybe I should just put them on a broker sight for a few thousand bucks instead. LMAO.

I love Saturdays. Why? We get to wear either Hawkeyes or Cyclones shirts on game day instead of the usual boring white button up shirts in the store. Best day of the week. Go Hawks!!

radiosweetheart- 09-22-2007

Congrats E_C that's the kind of persistence paying off I like to hear about! I'm kinda jealous and I'm not even a Bon Jovi fan. (I dig Bon Jovi-but I'm not a FAN fan-you know)

extra_cat- 09-22-2007

LOL Yeah, I know what you mean. I like a LOT of musicians. I'm a FAN of only two!

Ranee- 09-22-2007

For the CJH fans here, I just had to share this from EW ;D sci-fi is often admirably multiethnic (see Heroes), but where have all the bisexuals gone? Try Torchwood, the new Doctor Who spin-off about an underground -and sexually ambiguous - team of alien trackers, led by the immortal Capt. Jack Harkness (Central Park West's John Barrowman)...

LOL Yeah, I know what you mean. I like a LOT of musicians. I'm a FAN of only two! Bon Jovi and Bon Jesse?
