My sister and I are going to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada to celebrate our birthdays!
ETA: A festival devoted to the tomato isn't hard to imagine, my home town has a festival devoted to garlic.

A vacation to B.C. that sounds like fun, Taiga.
I'm heading back to the Tomato Festival in a few minutes.
Just trying to convince myself it's worth going out in the 100 degree heat to hear a 45 minute set by someone I've seen love probably close to 2 dozen times.
I'm amazed that it's possible to organize and all day festival dedicated to tomatoes. There's tomato t-shirts, tomato bags, tomato pie, tomato songs, tomato hats, Bloody Mary contests...you name it, if a tomato can somehow be involved, that festival's got it.
The line for the Bloody Mary samples was very long. I think next year every booth should have free Bloody Mary samples. That's bring people 'cross the river.

Does anyone think I can sue M&M for giving me a peanut butter m&m without peanut butter?

I think you have a very good case.
Give 'em Hell!

Made it home to Virginia without choking the hell out of anyone from United Airlines. Hubby and Fuzzy are happy to see me, though the cat is a little aloof.
Wait, cats are always aloof

You flew United? My condolences.
I used to fly United on occasion, but when I'd had 5 cancellations, delays or luggage mismanagements in row I swore to avoid them at all cost. The last one was a whopper: Twelve hour delay out of SFO, infotainment system knackered, five screaming babies and my luggage ended up in Kuala Lumpur.

I really need to do my laundry. Someone please shout at me to go do my laundry.

wow, yeah, that would get me to not want to use them either. Normally, I have good flights with United and American and this time I had a decent flight with American and a hell of a flight with United. My passcard I got in Los Angeles said to get my boarding pass at the gate in Washington DC, but the gate in DC was so backed up they couldn't find my pass *boggles* and then kept calling for missing passengers WHEN I WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE going," Here, that name you called three times, it is me, hello" They were closing the gangplank by the time the lady gave me a seat assignment.
We are flying Delta to Incheon, I fear this more than any other flight. Have NOT heard good things about Delta's overseas flights.
Is it bad when you fly so often you know all the carriers and their flights in and out of a country? Tried to get the American flight to Narita and then transfer to the KAL to Incheon, no dice. It is O-Bon Season, Flights in and out of Asia, in particualr Japan are booked for the month.

Glad you made it back without too much unbearable airline trauma TC.
The worst airline I've ever encountered is Northwest. I was flying to Chicago from Nashville and had a 4 hour layover in Detroit.
And they wanted $1 for those little snacky pretzel packs that have 4 teeny tiny pretzels.
I shudder to think what a can of Coke would've cost.
I'm in the midst of a trauma, as my computer isn't recognizing my external hard drive where all of my music, videos, and everything I've written in the last 3 years. I am very not happy about what that might mean.

I haven't been on a plane since I was 6, when I went to Disneyland. It makes me sad that we don't go anywhere interesting enough that we would have to go in a plane.
TrooperCam- 08-12-2007
HTR, I never even flew in a plane when I was young. The first time I was ever on a plane was on the way to Nevada for college. I was 17.
Fuzzball is sneaking around sniffing my luggage, which is lying all over the living room. She just started hissing at the garbage bag for no reason. It was pretty funny actually.

How do you KNOW it's no reason?*shifty eyes*
And I haven't even been OUT of California, so you are lucky!

Isn't that, uh, going the wrong direction? Chicago, I do believe, is larger, closer, and overall beats Detroit in every way. That makes no sense.
Of course, you could've gone Greyhound. Oh, the tales from a Greyhound trip...
