As I wait to see if we actually get a foot of snow here I've got to say that my favorite description for this storm is: "Snowprah. You get a blizzard! and You get a blizzard! and You get a blizzard!

radiosweetheart- 02-01-2011

:sad:I don't get a blizzard.

I thought I'd share this site that has homes inspired by pop culture. The Bat Cave is kind of cool (it's just the entrance), but the others are really scary.

Really, Disney? Seriously? Jennifer Garner as Miss Marple? As someone points out in the comments there, Maggie Smith has never played Miss Marple, and she could kick JG's ass (in multiple ways) with one stony stare.

As someone points out in the comments there, Maggie Smith has never played Miss Marple, and she could kick JG's ass (in multiple ways) with one stony stare. That's the most idiotic piece of casting I've ever heard. Margaret Rutherford was miscast. And, I think, Maggie Smith would be as well. Agatha Christie always used words like "fluffy" to describe Miss Marple. She was the sweet, old lady that people ignored when they weren't helping her across the street. If they are going to redo them, pick someone like Celia Imbry (she was in Kingdom) or Penelope Wilton (Downton Abbey). They'd be perfect. (ETA: Or Annette Crosbie.) I wonder whether Jennifer Garner's Miss M will even be English?

That is true. Maggie would be a little too intimidating for Miss Marple. And I assume it won't be set in a small English village, what with the writer being associated with the "Fantastic Four" movie franchise. Not to say that some updates aren't unreasonable. I love the new Sherlock -- but they just updated the time, and left the characters alone. This ... is not that.

Do you think this will be worse than the "Wonder Woman" revamp? Not that the original show was a classic...

http://www.rescuechocolate.com/ I just learned about this site so I can't speak for the quality of the products, but I like the concept. They sell chocolate and the profits go to animal rescue.

My dog Bucky died in January, I got a new puppy unexpectedly two and a half weeks ago, and last week we discovered we have bedbugs. So we're sleeping on an air mattress in the living room with everything from the bedroom in huge black plastic sealed bags. The puppy loves tormenting the cats, who love running across my desk in a whirl of paper. Calgon, take me away!

Interesting article about the way how pain patients and their doctor’s are treated in the USA. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/radley-balko/prescription-painkillers_b_1240722.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D131252
