Whaddya say, RNwannabe? Can we affectionately call you Nursie?
I've been called worse, Fiddy, Call away!

Baseball only matters to me in the following situations:
The Yankees are losing (I hates the Yankees!)
The Red Sox are winning (I loves the Red Sox!)
Amen. :)

Congrats RNwannabe!!! Awesome job, you have every right to be proud of yourself and that all the hard work paid off

Congratulations, Nursie! A great achievement! :D
Poeia, I LOVE your avatar. So awesome.

Damn, despite my better efforts, I actually did something constructive today. Cleared out the kitchen, organized all the dvd's(alphabetical order, because I'm anal about that) and I'm attempting to get my cd stand dug out of the mess that is the laundry room. Emptied quite a few boxes, it actually starts looking like we didn't just moved in lol

I got new soccer socks and cleats for soccer season, tried to think about planning my 13th birthday.(OK, I lied. I'm 12. But I'm turning 13 in like 2 weeks, so I didn't think it mattered too much), got food and stuffs for the next couple weeks, and sorted my clothes into "fits'' and "too small".
(You are much more efficient that me)

I've been cleaning and packing. My roommate and I are moving to a new place on 9/1. I cannot wait. This place is too small, has no storage, and we cannot have a/c. The new place is an entire house we will have. We will be sharing with 3 other people, but it is so nice, huge rooms, free laundry, dishwasher, a/c, nice hardwood floors that aren't peeling. I cannot wait to move! Of course it is right before school starts (I'm a teacher) so I have that added stress as well!

8) Kudos Nursie! Quite a feat. *applause*
Radiosweetheart: What does the "Rock Chalk" part of the Rock Chalk Jayhawk chant mean? I am so not familiar with basketball.
For those with sound on their computers, I did find (via Wikipedia, Source of All Knowledge*) this mp3 of KU fans doing the chant. It starts out vaguely creepy, then turns awesome at the end.
I'm spoiled for soccer because I've watched matches between Italy and Greece while in a packed outdoor Greek taverna in a Greek neighborhood in Queens . . . and Greece beat Italy. The ensuing block party was epic. We handed out free baby pandas to all the children from astride our sparkly rainbow-haired unicorns, then bathed in honey.
My favorite thing I heard about baseball was on NPR: Zack Hample, the author of Watching Baseball Smarter was asked why baseball was the only sport that didn't have regulations for the field size (like soccer), so that all the fields were different? "Because it's beautiful." Dude has achieved Oneness with his FanBoy-hood.
Happy Birthday in advance HTR. I had a pinata at my 12th birthday, I'm pretty sure for my 13th it was a sleepover. My birthday is in September—I asked for House S3 DVDs.
*I kid. Visit your local public library.

I've just decided that this hasn't been a defection (or mass exodus) from TWoP. It is the overt manifestation of many regulars' desire to help Nikita. Obviously she's been in over her head with the demands of keeping up with such an active fan base. We're just lightening her workload.

Well, we aren't anywhere near her right now, so I don't care!
I think the b-days I remember:
5th: Children's Fairyland(barf, but I was 5)
10th: Rock cliimbing(I payed for this, not my parents)
11th: 6 Flags Marine World, before it became Discovery Kingdom.
12th: The Zeum in SF with 4 friends.
I'm probably going to the Zeum again or to my Great great aunt's house in Santa Cruz for the weekend. Should be a good time.
Oh! I forgot. The House DVDs are coming out 3 days before my birthday!

Sansy, the Rock Chalk part of the chant is just because it rhymes with Jayhawk and not much else does.
You want creepy? Go to Ohio State University and shout "OH!" crowds of people will suddenly manifest to yell "HI!"---"OH!"
Midwesterners are so freakin' weird. Fer real.

Yes, Poeia, all that time she spent handing out silly and inexplicable warnings and time-outs! I agree with HTR, though. We are nowhere near her, so good riddance.

I dare you to go to Ohio State and shout Wolverines...
My husband's uncle played for the Buckeyes, his brother played for the Hawkeyes, I believe both played for a short time in the NFL.

I-L-L...I-N-I!!!!!
Sorry, I went to the University of Illinois many years ago. That just brought back memories. Yes, we midwesterners are freakin' wierd.

I like being in one piece, thanks.
Football is so huge in Ohio-which is strange, considering the pro football team will probably never win a Super Bowl in my lifetime.
