There were no phone calls in the middle of the night, so your good vibes must be working. Thanks! I will never understand doctors though. My dad had been experiencing neck pain over the weekend and by the time he got to the hospital Monday it was in the 'near tears' range on the pain scale. Now, if a guy with no history of collapsing collapses while in that much pain, my first thought is maybe the two are connected.** But it sounds like the hospital didn't do any sort of scan on his neck yesterday, just fed him pain meds and whatever they do for people with coronary-like symptoms :( I wouldn't want to be working in that ward of the hospital today. A bored Dad and a determined-to-get-to-the-bottom-of-things Mom are a deadly combination :) **ok, I'll admit it. My first thought was infarction...

Aw, I'm so sorry your Dad is having problems, Mary. Although I have to admit that the combo of in pain/bored/ready to go home Dad and angry/gonna take down anybody who gives her BS Mom sounds highly entertaining!!! I hope everything turns out okay and he's all back to normal soon.

I feel old. I think my roommate and I exchanged letters. Actual written on paper, mailed in an envelop with a stamp, delivered by the USPS letters. Because facebook, cell phones, and possibly email hadn't been invented yet. I think we did have an answering machine by then though. With a big cassette tape. Installing it may have required wire cutters and possibly soldering :) Chipmunk, can you get a tuner/capture device for your computer? That might be easier than lugging around a TV. Especially if it's not a digital TV, unless you will have a converter box or an analog cable signal available starting in February. I remember exchanging actual letters with my freshman year roommate. Wow those were the days. :) ETA: Hoping for the best for you marykir!

Tomorrow I start orientation for my new job. My classroom isn't remotely ready, but the training scheduled for Thursday was canceled, giving me a day to work on it (since I already took the day off from my p/t job, I may as well use it!) I'm nervous and stressed!
