Can we have a thread just for Sheep's recaps? Because they rock. Baseball, eh. Rugby, hmm....

galaxygirl- 08-08-2007

It's not as bad as rugby (which is more about brute force than athletics), but all the players leap on each other to get the ball. I like to call football, rugby for sissies, it doesn't go over too well with the males I know  I loved to watch rugby, it's so entertaining. I miss the BBC.

Hah, should I make a recap thread? And isn't rugby just a bunch of guys charging into one another, aiming to knock as many people over as humanly possible? I heard there was a ball involved somewhere, but I'm still not convinced...

RNwannabe- 08-08-2007

all the players leap on each other to get the ball. *g* Balls?

Hail the Random- 08-08-2007

Hah, RNwannabe! My cousin used to play rugby(then she went to Mexico, she wasn't medically injured). I'll never forget the game she played where her team lost 96-0.

fffaw- 08-08-2007

Not to get off the subject of...balls, but I wanted to extend a hearty Mazel Tov to rnwannabe for becoming an RN! Congrats!

Hail the Random- 08-08-2007

What's an RN?

fffaw- 08-08-2007

Registered Nurse

407- 08-08-2007

CONGRATS to rnwannabe, whose name is now... not exactly true.

Hail the Random- 08-08-2007

Oh. Congratulations!*makes Hoyay-tini for you*

fffaw- 08-08-2007

Perhaps we need to start calling her RN4Real?

RNwannabe- 08-08-2007

Thank you so very much, fiddy, HTR, and 407 for your kind words. After spending approximately 187 hours a week for the past several years attending lectures, studying, doing unspeakable things with human you-name-its and handcrafting alcoholic beverages in order to pay for it all, I have finally reached my goal. Telling an aide to do it for me (HA). (Both the messy part and the beverage part. Yes, I will accept that Hoyay-tini!) I am such a glutton, I will be back at school in the Fall. At least I can get the hospital to subsidize it for me. Thanks, again!

RNWannabe- can we rechristen you Nursie? Every young forum needs its very own Nursie.

fffaw- 08-08-2007

Every young forum needs its very own Nursie. ITA! I think a new nickname is born. :-) Whaddya say, RNwannabe? Can we affectionately call you Nursie?

This is rather like when they closed the Sydney Harbour Bridge when Dick Cheney came to visit. For those of you who think Australian people wear lederhosen, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is our main bridge in our biggest city. Umpteen thousand people cross it every day. Closing it makes every Sydneysider go insane because actually getting somewhere in Sydney is somewhat akin to the roadmap of peace in the Middle East. Screwing with their transport system makes them very very cross and lost some guy an election. But the important question is "do those umpteen thousand people cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge while wearing lederhosen?" As to health care - the way our education system works many doctors are a $200,000+ in debt by the time they finish med school. If they don't find a way to address that and we get national health, we'll have a severe shortage of doctors within a generation. Because you have to have a calling to pick a career knowing that you're going to be paying off your college loans right up until the day you retire. Of course there are other problems too. Logical minds could probably address them. But I've never heard it said that people who work for the gov't in D.C. have logical minds.
