If it makes you feel better, you can't donate in the US if you've spent 6 months or more in the UK during the reign of mad cow mania. So that's gotten me off the hook for donating blood. I like donating blood but they literally have to pull out a book of regulations and look up every single location I have been in the past three years. When I am donating on base it is not so bad as they are used to it. My local Red Cross not so much The lead actress is Zooey Deschanel who I think is Emily Deschanel's sister. I liked Zooey in Bridge to Terabithia. She has a nice singing voice.

Could some tech-y person explain this: I'm having trouble with my internet service. I have DSL. At the moment, I can get onto HHOW quickly and easily, but it's just about the only site I frequently use that I can access. Even the homepage of my server typically gets me a "cannot find server" error. Not that I'm complaining, but why can I access this and--for the most part--nothing else?

I tried to practice Japanese and be fannish at the same time and read the Japanese website for Doctor Who, and I think my brain just exploded. Christopher Eccleston's name is not easy, I can tell you that. His name is like Kee-ree-sto-pha Ek--ee--ree-ston. I tried reading it once during the credits after it aired here in Japan and it took me an hour to read it, LOL. I have started to like Billie Piper more than I ever have: Her name is just "Bee-ree Pi-pa." I can't wait until Season Three airs. What will they do with Freema Agyeman? There are, like, consonants and stuff. Heehee.

You know what I like? Free money! Just got my settlement notice of a class action case I didn't realize I was apart of. Apparently if you traveled abroad between 1996 & 2006 and used your credit card you get, at the very least, a $25 refund based on whatever the discrepancy was in calculating foreign transactions. Beer money!

(Turn off PC, router if any and modem, leave off a minute, then turn on first the modem, wait till lights are steady, then router, then PC). I used to have to do this all the time with my dsl. It's weird you can get to one site, though. Are you seeing all the new messages? Did you change antivirus programs or anything?

Not if Chehalis is still under water! :-) Though having said that, I'm more of a Centralia kind of gal. Can you get into either of them yet? I stopped watching the news. It was too depressing watching people throwing away all their possessions and trying to get the mud out of their houses. Or hearing about all the livestock that drowned :( BTW, the Red Cross has a special fund set up for Northwest Flooding - here.

Did you change antivirus programs or anything? extra_cat probably has ATT DSL service, which went out all over the southeast last Monday. People (of which I am one) are still pissed, mostly about the nonexistent customer service during the outage. There was no way to find out if it was on their end or yours. I practically took apart my computer trying to fix it.
