Ugh. That's horrible, Poeia. :-(
I don't mean to change the subject, but some good news: The Broadway strike is over! The shows will open again tomorrow.
Hooray! Now if only the WGA strike is settled quickly and in an equitable manner. Makes a nice holiday gift, studios - you hear me?
Poeia- 11-28-2007
Yeah. We probably won't be able to get new tickets for Cyrano, but still, it's nice that the entire tourist season won't go down the drain.

And if I may change the subject for a moment: I really, really hate E. coli O157:H7.
Oh!!!! I'll give you a new pair for what you've been through. Consider it a reward for hard work.
Thanks :D I need them. I rarely think 'fuck, that was disgusting' but I did yesterday.

I wonder what would happen if we were to write wish lists to Father Christmas asking for a deal. I'm all for a little childlike faith.

So how screwed up am I?
Let me begin by noting that today began as a normal day ... get up, eat, dress, drive to work ... but while chewing some gum this morning one of my crowns popped off. Along with much of the tooth. And a screw. And a wire. Yeah, I have bad teeth. Luckily, this tooth had a root canal some time ago, so there was no pain. Unluckily ... this tooth had a root canal some time ago and the tooth had sort of ... degraded.
That's not the "screwed up" part.
Luckily I get into my dentist this afternoon, he looks at it and confirms we should just pull it. Luckily the oral surgeon down the street has an opening, so I bop down there.
I'm almost to the screwed up part now.
He gives me the options (I've had teeth yanked before, and tell him to just do his thing) and after some massive injections he does. In less than five minutes. On my way out they give me my prescriptions, for penicillan and Vicodin.
And all I can think is: Cool. Fic research. I've never actually taken Vicodin before. *sigh* I'm not even in pain (yet) and yet I'm still planning to take some just because ... you know ... research.
radiosweetheart- 11-29-2007
Vicodin is fun.
I remember the first time I took it: I realized that college basketball was the best.thing.ever!
And another time I discovered that I really, really like Old Time Music.
Without Vicodin, these truths would not have been made self-evident.
Congrats, Namaste.

Vicodin is fun.
Hm, I don't know. I've tried it exactly once - when I pulled a muscle earlier this year - and I mostly fell into a stupor. I do remember thinking 'hey, finally I'll know what hardcore opiates feel like – must be better than codeine' though, so I guess I'm with Nameste here.
Oh, and Spurs *finally* won a game today, but I'd been happy either way. See, the problem is that it was an UEFA Cup match against a small Danish club no one (except me) had ever heard of – but it's a club I've sympathy-cheered for years. My sister is married into a family of fanatical supporters. I like them. They're constant underdogs but by gum they can play. It's quite a pickle. I spent the whole match cheering and then thinking 'oops, I wasn't supposed to cheer there...no, wait, I was...no...yes...no'. I'm very confused.

I know that team, but I'm a total soccer dork, who can out talk many Dutch men on soccer knowledge. So yay for Spurs, my favorite team didn't even make it into Europe this season. Which is something I hope will help them in the national competition.

Oh, that's what I said. Just don't try to write anything, because when I took it, all I could write was smut, and not even the good type. It was really BAD!!!!
But have fun. Everything is better on the Vic! Unless you pass out from it - but I only slept through the first two doses.
I've heard of the Spurs, but my uncle played soccer in Poland before immigrating to the US. I watched the FIFA World Cup with him. Of course, soccer is one of the only sports I'll voluntarily watch.
Silja- 11-29-2007
Heh, maybe I should clarify. I wasn't saying that no one's heard of Spurs. It's a big English club. I was thinking of tonights opposition, the little know Aalborg Boldklub or AaB for short.
I like them a lot, they have spunk, but Ramos made a complete arse of himself at a press thing yesterday when he openly stated that he didn't know a thing about them. And the match ended 3-2 after AaB had led by 0-2 for the longest time. Ramos? He's possibly a bigger arsehat than Jol (sorry GG).
galaxygirl- 11-29-2007
I probably wasn't clear enough either, I looked up who the Spurs played and recognized their opponent's name lol. Apparently, according to my dad, Jol wants the job of head coach of the national team when Van Basten leaves, which will likely be after the upcoming Euro 2008.
Do you guys have a new victim yet Silja? And I'm sorry England didn't make it, though I'm not sorry that Russia made it instead, cause if their Dutch wonder coach. Maybe England could get some money and hire him.
Silja- 11-29-2007
I'm amazed that you know them gg. I truly am. And I'm sorry to hear about Jol. Well, at least you've qualified to Euro 2008.
I'm secretly hoping for Klinsman but it looks as if it might be *shudders* Mourinho. Ever since The Special One was unceremoniously sacked by Chelsea he's been connected to every single free manager position from Timbuktu to Vladivostok. Now he's been quoted as saying that the FA 'should come look for him' or something equally coy as if he's looking for an effin marriage proposal. Pillock.
galaxygirl- 11-29-2007
I'm telling you again Silja, the FA needs to go for Hiddink, he can make a success out of every team, see South Korea, Australia, Russia and his success with PSV. I freaking hate Moaninho. Not helped by my Chelsea hate, which is primarly fueled by Abramovich just buying whatever he feels like and thinking he can buy titles like that. I'm immensely amused that they still haven't won the Champions League.
March301- 11-29-2007
Heh. I've never had Vicodin, but my sister had to take it. It started with her sleeping on and off (after muttering something about wanting to watch a movie with pretty music) and then she woke up, incredibly sick to her stomach. I remember thinking, "Ugh. Why, House, why??"

And my reaction on reading this was "why is Silja interested in the San Antonio basketball team?"
Silja- 11-29-2007
A more pertinent question would be 'why is San Antonio playing in the UEFA Cup?' :D
the FA needs to go for Hiddink, he can make a success out of every team
That would be a good choice and hence beyond the FA.
