Gotta love Iowa. It's 31F, feels like 20F right now. It's only early November. brrrr But just think....all that hot air will be leaving your state in less than 2 months now.

*whine* I got back from the dentist about 2 hours ago. And then I fell asleep. And now I'm here. My mouth feels all weird, like there's something stuck in it.*/whine*

I'm sorry HTR, I have to go later today for my first of a whole bunch of dentist visits. If it gets even colder I might have to start wearing sweaters when I go outside.

radiosweetheart- 11-06-2007

You should wear a sweater anyway! And a coat and a hat and gloves and a scarf and snow pants and galoshes! It's cold out there! You'll catch a nasty illness. Do you want a nasty illness?

galaxygirl- 11-06-2007

My perception of cold has changed drastically since moving to Iowa lol. Since I now know what -22F feels like, 7F doesn't feel that cold.

chickleta- 11-06-2007

You're not in sweater-weather yet? I'm a) Canadian and b) Mathematically challenged. The Fahrenheit temperatures make no sense to me. But here, we've started to have mornings with temps below 0C.

Hail the Random- 11-06-2007

Everyday for me is sweater weather. I got this biglight purple jacket for my 11th birthday and I wear it almost every single day.

Taiga- 11-06-2007

Where in Canada are you, chickleta? Not near me, we're colder than that right now.

It's below 0C here as well on most mornings. I use weatherunderground.com for all my weather news. It has the temp in both F and C. Very useful for poor old former metric-user me. To put the temperature thing a little in perspective, I'm from a country that has a sea climate, mild summers and winters. Iowa, not so much. Extreme on both counts.

During the day it's been okay, but in the mornings and night you definitely want at least a jacket. It's getting cold. The Fahrenheit temperatures make no sense to me. But here, we've started to have mornings with temps below 0C. Well, in Fahrenheit, 32 degrees is freezing (what an arbitrary number, unless you're like a real science person. *g*). So I'm guessing in Fahrenheit below 0 would be about 32 degrees or less. Brrrr. That means cold, but not miserable. I'd say once it starts getting down to about 10 degrees or less it's don't go outside and bury yourself in warm blankets. *g* I have a completely arbitrary way of converting F to C, though. I've lived in two countries where they use Celsius so I've had to try and figure out. All I know is when Celsius gets to about double digits I don't need my heavy coat. When it gets to about 20 degrees, it's nice weather. And when it gets to 30 degrees, well. Stay inside with the air conditioner on. Or something.

When it gets to 40º, do not go outside, as you will melt. (joke) (Based off of the fact that 37.7ºC is about 96.8ºF)

chickleta- 11-06-2007

Where in Canada are you, chickleta? Not near me, we're colder than that right now. Nova Scotia. We've been having unseasonably warm temperatures, yeah... and hurricanes. Sorry, post-tropical storms.

Taiga- 11-06-2007

(singing 'Barrett's Privateers') Oh I was I was in Sherbrooke now...

arizonamyrie- 11-06-2007

When it gets to 40º, do not go outside, as you will melt. (joke) (Based off of the fact that 37.7ºC is about 96.8ºF) From what I understand: 0ºC = 32ºF (freezing point) 25ºC = 70ºF (room temperature) 37ºC = 98.6ºF (body temp) 100ºC = 212ºF (boiling point) And what I really don't understand? It's been hovering in the 30s today (ºF) with winds gusting into the 50s where I am - and they're still doing the freakin' construction!!!!! I know they just finally passed the state budget here in Wisc, but they've been in construction season since March, and some of these new zones just cropped up in September. Why September? This is Wisconsin!!!

Aren't you glad you are not a Wisconsin construction worker? Signed, Silver-Lining-Girl
