Hey March301, :urock: ! And I'm not a mod, but it's my understanding that everything in The Hizzy is on topic (so relaxing!).

Ben Folds and Toad the Wet Sprocket (and Down the Line, a really tight alt-country band) on Friday night. And Saturday there are three co-headliners: Shawn Colvin, Patti Griffin and Emmylou Harris. That is a phenomenal line-up. I'm terribly jealous. If only Ann Arbor wasn't WAY far away, I'd make a trek for something like that. Glad to see a festival getting good names and going strong.

I am so not ready for it to be dark out before dinner time. It seems like only yesterday it was barely dark at bedtime :)

Hail the Random- 11-05-2007

Or the day before that. :D

Taiga- 11-05-2007

You're in Seattle? I scoff, marykir, I have an hour less daylight than you and yeah it's depressing.

marykir- 11-05-2007

:) Did you guys switch from daylight savings time this weekend? That's the killer - last week I could work outside for 2 hours after all the kids went home from school. I guess I'll have to start right after lunch instead. Usually the fog has burned off by then...usually. I'm still not sure what happened to September and October though. They seem to have zipped right by.

Hail the Random- 11-05-2007

This daylight savings time is better than spring. In spring, it feels like waking up an hour early, instead of now, which feels like an hour late.

Taiga- 11-05-2007

Yes, we switched this weekend too. It's night when I get home from work now, as well as when I get up. Isn't your Thanksgiving coming up soon?

marykir- 11-05-2007

Thanksgiving is the 22nd. I've only lived out here for 13 years. It took years for my brain to think ocean = west instead of ocean = east. Maybe someday I'll get use to the really short winter days and the really long summer days too :)

I feel like butt, I did the show sounding like Selma from The Simpsons. My head and chest are fully congested and now I'm running a fever. This sucks

March301- 11-06-2007

One of the sucky things about living on the other side of the international date line is that it's been dark around dinner time since, oh, say, August. And today by the end of my four o'clock class, it was already pretty much pitch dark. Very bizarre. Night time at 4:50 pm. I feel like butt, I did the show sounding like Selma from The Simpsons. My head and chest are fully congested and now I'm running a fever. This sucks. Urgh. I have/had that, too. I had a fever last weekend and now it's just a freaking cough. It's awful.

chickleta- 11-06-2007

I feel your pain, TC. I woke up with achy tonsils and a fever, and I have an exam today, and another on Friday. Fantastic timing.

Hibernia- 11-06-2007

Hope you feel better soon TrooperCam!

galaxygirl- 11-06-2007

Gotta love Iowa. It's 31F, feels like 20F right now. It's only early November. brrrr

Hibernia- 11-06-2007

Sounds like you're in for one hell of a winter, GG...
