In the Hizzy: Off-Topic Postings

In the discussion of the current season. I asked the thread to "give these guys a break," meaning the writers of the series. I was told that that was rude, hence I've been banned. I am so confused. Half of the posts are rude and nasty to the shows writers and producers. So how could my "give these guys a break" get me banned? I'm so confused Let me give it a try...sasmom m'dear, you know I love you darling, but you have to stop being such a b*itch. All you do is yell at people and insult them…oh, sod me sideways No, sorry. It doesn't make sense to me either. Maybe Nikita has finally lost it completely. But I do love you darling :wink: I've stopped posting there. The tone has become supremely unpleasant.

You know, Sasmom, that makes no sense at all. And knowing the way you post, I really wonder how anyone at all could call you rude. And why ban right away, why no polite pm or warning first?? I'm soooooooo glad I never went to that Other Place!! It makes sense, if you know what my theory behind it all is :wink: I still post over there because I still enjoy the non-House threads and forums I'm active in.

And I'll be damned if I'm going to click through and acknowledge another warning just to post there. Even the Hizzy there has all but picked up and moved away. They have a very strange way of doing things there. I had considered the idea of posting in other forums there, i.e. "Big Love" and "Californication" but barely dipped my toe in the water before I decided that it was best to just cut my losses. But dude...the poor neglected Hugh Laurie thread over there. It barely budges anymore. Hope no one from the show ever tunes in and thinks the frisky just went away.

I think there's an awful lot of that going on, sasmom--people getting banned without warnings first. And something weird I noticed is that you can still view the profiles of people who've been banned; their usernames are still hyperlinks, not just bolded text. Perhaps it's just me being paranoid, but is it possible that this a deliberate thing so we can't tell who's been banned? btw, was it Nikita who banned you, or Mars? I think Nikita's on vacation. It makes me sad that she's not the only unreasonable one. I'm pretty sure that I read that discussion before it got "snipped", and ... I didn't notice that there was anything particularly rude about your statements.

Sasmom, I can't believe they banned you at TWoP! Wait. Yes I can. They've banned almost all the old-timers. I've never seen you be rude to anyone on the threads. I'm just glad that your here. We all enjoy your insightful posts about House.

sasmom, the thing that gets me is that now you've been branded - for internet posterity - as 'rude' in their little 'reason for editing' notes :( Which is... fairly absurd. edit: Actually, I have this hope that eventually everyone will be banned. And the whole subforum will just be mods modding each other :D

Does that make me one of the last old-timers not to get banned? I haven't actually been banned. Just warned to infinity. And every once in awhile they'll tack on some absurd "suspension time out" periods. But then again, I'm not really an old timer, either. I used to read the site a long time ago when it was Mighty Big TV for the X-Files write-ups. But I never posted in the forums then. If there were any forums then, I really don't remember. But I never bothered to join until after season 2 of House.

I got warned for talking about a TV show in the Hizzy. A rule that apparently existed before the new mods, but was never, ever enforced. Then suddenly, warnings and bannings left and right. *rolls eyes*. I'm not an old-timer, but I just wanted to contribute my bitterness.

I keep making plans for going out in a blaze, but then I realise that I can't be bothered. *shrugs* Why worry about TSTSNBN - it's their loss. Funny, Trooper? Eh. Sorry. I've run out.

I checked out of there when I got my third warning. It was for being rude when I - well I was about to say when I disagreed with another poster's opinion, but actually I didn't even do that. I get being called rude if you've called another poster an idiot or said/implied that their opinion is stupid, but I got warned for being rude after simply expressing an opinion different from someone else's. I've been a member there for years and got three warnings in a few months. I left and I'm never going back; I wish I could delete my profile but you can't. I'm really here to rant. I have a new appreciation for our favourite fictional oncologist. This week my cousin's oncologist told her she had months to live, OVER THE PHONE. This is the same cousin whose early stage lung cancer was spotted on an x-ray a year ago while trying to diagnose her chronic anemia but her doctors just plain ole forgot about it. Then after they'd removed her stomach to treat her bleeding ulcers they remember and oops, looks like it's spread. So they passed it over to an oncologist, eventually (no reason to hurry, after all) and months after realizing she had cancer she's told she has at most a year to live. OVER THE PHONE.
