I'd consider myself a fan of all three. Taub's scenes with Amber and Chase were especially good. I actually expected PJ to be decent in this role because he made such an impression when he was on Law and Order.

I've seen this comparison a few different places, that Taub is a new version of Wilson because they've both cheated on their wives. Maybe I've missing something, but I don't get it. Cheating is common. Last stats I read on it were that a third of husbands and a fifth of wifes cheat. It and finances are the top two causes of divorce, and most doctors are in a good situation in the latter area. With the stress and long hours they face, and how much more they're around coworkers than family.
Are there other Taub/Wilson paralells? Is Taub cheating even significant yet, or more a sign that he's human?

To me the big difference is that while they both have reputations as philanderers, Wilson continually marries and divorces. He either gets bored -- or his wives get bored -- and they move on. Taub, on the other hand, does everything he can to retain what he has, even giving up his specialty and a lucrative practice.
I see the "cheating on your spouse" thing more as a symptom. What's interesting is that their reactions to that action are polar opposites. So to me, Taub is a contrast to Wilson, not a duplicate.

What Namaste said. They are almost opposites, besides Taub seems to be much more self conscious about who he is and what he wants for his life than Wilson.
But then, I really don't see that much similarities between the new team and the old one as some others fans do, so maybe I'm missing something...

I'm not sure if that's an actual question or sarcasm (it's hard to read that sometimes) but in, I believe the CIA episode -- I'm forgetting title just now -- he and Amber were verbally sparring and he said: "Shiksas are for practice."

Wilson has done this, too .... just not for any of his wives. He did it for House last season .... he did it until he couldn't do it any more. I wonder if we will see Taub develop in this way. (That is, if there is time to see that kind of development in these new characters. Not because of the strike, but because the series may come to an end before the 3 newbies have 3 full seasons in which to be developed.)

Outside of cheating on his wife and being the same religion, Taub and Wilson are very different characters.
What is interesting is when Wilson cheated, he always told his wives. Whereas Taub actually disrupts his entire career to keep his wife from knowing. Different priorities there.

Looks like Taub is Jewish, or at least House thinks so. And we now know that Taub, like every other character on House pretty much ignores House's ethnic slurs.
