Knitting in the sand? To each her own. I thought you lived in the south. I must have been confused. Have a great holiday.

Knitting in the sand? To each her own. :P You sound exactly like my husband. I thought you lived in the south. I must have been confused. Have a great holiday. I do live in the south, East, near Marseille and Mediterranean sea. Holiday is in the west, on Atlantic Ocean (Pays Basque, if you know it).

Jane Doe- 07-29-2010

I hope you have a great time! I had forgotten that a part of the Basque Country was in France! :P ETA: Apparently you have my cat's wishes, too!

beckston- 07-29-2010

Knitting in the sand sounds like heaven to me also. Have a nice holiday and post when you can.

Poeia- 07-29-2010

I used to enjoy knitting (before I got Poeia and Annabella.) And I enjoy the beach at night when it's not as hot or sticky. But I have a hard time seeing the twain meeting (and an even harder time imagining getting all the sand out when blocking the finished product.)

But I have a hard time seeing the twain meeting (and an even harder time imagining getting all the sand out when blocking the finished product.) Well, it implies circular knitting and mainly cotton, so not to block ; and preferably a light, lacy thing, like this, but I didn't want to sound picky... :D And to stay on topic, House would mock me, too ; I remember at least one joke on "the first knitting injury in the ER, we'll be right on it". (Obviously, you understand why I remembered it). ETA : picture of said lacy beach knit of last year

Oooh! That's very pretty and intricate. I am hopeless at things like knitting and crocheting. I space out and forget what I'm doing, dropping stitches, etc.

beckston- 07-30-2010

preferably a light, lacy thing, like this That is gorgeous Vicpei. You do wonderful work. Be sure and post a picture of this year's beach project when it is finished.

Poeia- 07-30-2010

That's gorgeous. I can see how that can be dealt with at the beach. (ETA: But why does an oncologist have with such a tan?) My favorite knitting was always the stuff with complicated stitches like that. I made my niece and nephew baby blankets with open designs. But once I got Poeia (almost 18 years ago) knitting became a game called "grab the needle." (And, if she couldn't get close enough to grab it, the game became "yell loudly enough to disturb the neighbors about the fact that I'm being ignored in favor of that thing") There are other good games with Poeia and Annabella such as solitaire aka "these things are harder to shred than Kleenex are."

Anonyme- 07-30-2010

But why does an oncologist have with such a tan? Ah! That's living in the South, we spend most of our free time in the garden since march/april (the weather is great here), and I use to do all the administrative stuff (protocols, charts, mails...) on my terrace, thanks to the internet. Be sure and post a picture of this year's beach project when it is finished. This year's less lacy and more work, but still with skinny yarn. The lacy thing from the year before is here. And Hay! to hotels with free WIFI on the holidays road!!

Hope you're having a good holiday Vicpei! We have just returned from France, and the weather was not always great. We did discover Albi, such a lovely town, I will surely visit again. I used to be quite good at knitting, but then the internets interfered, an now I don't remember a thing about it. I still have a half finished sweater for my husband lying around somewhere, in the most horrible 90's colour scheme... .

It is usually so hot in Provence at this time of the year, that a little oceanic coolness is welcomed. Bruised my right thigh (!!) at surf, lost stitches on the shore, holiday is fine!! ;-)) (well, except for the typing on my phone part....)

Back from vacation with a little more tan (and a few more pounds too, I'm afraid). Just in time for some new season 7 tasty promos, how lucky am I!! (And Hay! to a real keyboard, Iphone is useful but really uneasy for this)

Like you, just back in time for the promos...

Anonyme- 08-17-2010

I am back in Provence now. Where were you?
