Day-Lewis, like Sean Connery and Cary Grant, will give off the vibes right to the grave. Meow, the man is luscious. He gives such a gracious, articulate and sincere speech, even if you're disappointed, he takes the sting out of it. I know what you mean, bailey, but it was funny when he knelt to be "knighted". But Depp is so overdue...

No Americans won acting awards this year. Nope, and I find that very interesting. It will probably mean that next year Americans will win them all. The Academy is predicable that way.

To be fair, I think Cary Grant is still sending vibes out from the grave. The man is just that good.

Yay for the Coen brothers. I haven't seen the movie but I love most all of their movies so...yay! But Depp is so overdue... *in bitter voice* So very, very, very overdue. Absolutely no preference for best picture. Let's just wrap this thing up, shall we?

My goodness, Jon Stewart has all but disappeared for the last hour or so. Is he at the after parties already? And I'm not sure what Frances McDormand is wearing, but it looks like a shirt, which I think is damn cool of her.

Well, this was a lackluster year. I'm not happy or angry, I'm just blah. The only person I was really rooting for was Johnny Depp and I really didn't expect him to win. Such is life.

McDormand was so thrilled, I thought she would need oxygen. And yeah, Jon - slipped off to get first shot at the best noshes, or what? Well, a couple of happy moments for me, but not in the top ten most thrilling or satisfying Oscars by any means. What the heck, we had an Oscar night, anyway.

So, no surprises there, except (for me) Tilda Swinton. You got it right GG. I saw someone upthread already commented on her dress, so I'll just say that I still can't get over how hideous it was. Just this in...MSNBC is reporting that Ricky Gervais is at least being considered as host of the Oscars. I guess they thought he was really funny at the Emmys, and he was.
