I Love You: House/Wilson

In order to verify I think we need House & Wilson to stand very close together indeed. Even that wouldn't necessarily help. As long as the feet aren't showing in a shot, they frequently play with this. Lifts/high heels and boxes are quite useful in getting both people eye-to-eye. The most glaring example was in MLC. Sassy dwarfmom came up to House's elbow. But when he was having the "how strong does she have to be?" conversation in the hallway, the top of her head was showing in all the close-ups of House's head and shoulders. With House and Wilson (back on topic), they are rarely shown standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the camera set up exactly at the mid-point. We are much more likely to see a shot like the Cuddy-watching-head-tilt in which House is in the hallway and Wilson is slightly behind him, in the doorway. The fact that House is standing a couple of inches closer to the camera will visually increase the height difference.

Omar Epps 5' 10 1/2" Jesse Spencer 5' 10 1/2" OE en JS are exactly the same height? That's weird, I'd have bet anything to Omar being larger. screenshot from Paternity, not that that says anything, but it's the best I've found so far. One of the most visually strange H/W scenes - to me is in Resignation. Wilson bangs on House's door - he opens it. When House open the doors, he and Wilson appear to be the same height. Once inside the apt everything seems to change. Wilson appears to be a about six inches shorter than House. When Wilson ask House "are you gonna admit that you're depressed, Wilson seems to have grown even shorter. Could someone please explain what is going on in that scene in terms of their constantly changing heights. As RSL looks taller than either of them I would assume RSL is several inches closer to the camer despite the fact that it looks like he and VG are touching shoulders. HL is the next closest and VG is the furthest away. Boys and girls, you can reproduce this optical illusion at home. Get two friends and/or family members to help you. Have the shorter one stand a few feet in front of you. Have the taller one stand several feet further back but just an inch or two to the left or right of the first person. Take a picture. It will look like they are next to each other and the shorter person will have grown (or the taller one will have shrunk.)
