I guess I could see him doing it at the first one (at least the first one he was around for) but once it became a pattern, I don't know. I too, believed him about the gift.

Yep, I agree it would be just once.
One of the things that caught my attention in that whole Bonnie talk (when she was showing the condo) was that she said House wasn't paying attention when she and Wilson started dating. He probably wasn't paying attention with Julie either (Stacy? The infarction?) so now he is ultra cautious when Wilson is talking to a woman.
(And somehow, he missed Grace  )
LightMyCandle- 09-19-2007
That's an interesting point. Perhaps House thinks that he wasn't paying close enough attention in the past and Wilson kept getting married, or sleeping with patients (okay that was just that one time but still) maybe that's why he pays so close attention now and goes into stalker mode whenever a woman talks to Wilson.

I'm in the camp that believes that they actually did it already - maybe it's a lonely camp, but I like being here
Ah Lully I am so keeping you company in this camp, and I also think they continue to do it, on and off, to this day...
I wanna join the two of you in that camp. I too have the feeling that they have already done something and it wouldn't surprise me if it's still going on on occasion.

He might be thinking that he can stop Wilson from getting married again by paying much closer attention to what and to who Wilson is talking to/doing things with. I'm interested to the why House wants to stop Wilson from falling into the same trap, does he want to avoid another fight for attention with the wife? Not needed because he should know by now that Wilson will always come back to him eventually.

Welcome, GG, the more the merrier

Maybe he fears that eventually Wilson will find "the right one"? And then he wouldn't come back to him anymore?
Jouse- 09-19-2007
If House was the best man in any of the weedings, could you imagine his speech? Maybe Wilson's wives started to hate him because of the speech! House: Mazal Tov! I give it at least a year.

I honestly think that's it. "Your real fear is me having a good relationship." I think that's true. If Wilson is ever finally able to be happy with someone other than House then (at least in House's mind) Wilson might finally leave for good. Wilson wouldn't need him anymore. I think we've seen plenty of evidence, particularly in S3 that House is afraid of losing Wilson. I think he tries to hold onto Wilson as much as Wilson tries to hold onto House.
Jouse I'm in love with your icon.
Taiga- 09-19-2007
Word to the icon love.
I also think that House became more paranoid about Wilson's flirting after Grace. However, I can't help but think that part of his concern about the potential of Wuddy is that it's Cuddy. He was okay with Wilson taking a woman to the play, he only freaked when he found out Cuddy was that woman.
LightMyCandle- 09-19-2007
Oh, I have no doubt that part of House's problem with Wuddy is Cuddy. One of them finding someone would be irritating enough to him but the fact that it's both of the people in his life that he cares about the most possibly finding each other makes it even worse for House.
MissViolet- 09-19-2007
I also think he's afraid they'll gang up on him - Wilson sometimes runs interference with Cuddy and if they're a unified front, that could make his life more difficult (like Wilson's big Cortizone lie). I also think he's jealous of both of them and that's got to make the jealously more intense - being jealous of one person is bad enough!
I've read some delightfully naughty adulterer!Wilson fics. In RL I frown upon adultery but in H/W fics, for some reason, it gives me such thrill.

That's warm, cozy camp you got there. Mind if I pitch my tent? I love the idea of H/W doing it on occassion. They act like they have that level of physical ease with each other. The chemistry between HL and RSL is fantastic.
As far as being Wilson's best man, House can be classy on those rare occassions. He was pretty slick in All In, and that corsage for Cameron was a nice touch, even if I think she didn't deserve it for blackmailing him into coming back. Maybe, for Wilson's sake, he said something eloquent and witty and thoughtful at Wilson's wedding. (Or, more likely, Wilson prduently decided to forego the "best man's toast" wedding tradition.)

Splendid, there's enough of us now for a group hug As far as being Wilson's best man, House can be classy on those rare occassions.
ITA. I think once he'd thrown a fit and told Wilson he was making a big mistake (again) House would take it seriously and do a really good job. He might taunt Wilson about what he was going to say in the speech, but wouldn't in the end screw it up for him. (/end fanwank)

Not to mention that Cuddy seems to have almost the opposite personality of the kind of woman Wilson attracts - according to House, she's not needy enough and he's too nice for her. What if the relationship works? How House could fight for Wilson's attention with someone who knows his tricks so well?
Now I go back to the warm, cozy camp :winkiss:
Jouse- 09-20-2007
Two main reasons I don't want to have realised House and Wilson are already physically intimate: 1. I WANT TO SEE THE FIRST TIME AND ALL THE LOVELINESS OF THE BEGINNING!!!
And 2. I will find it very offensive TPTB chose not to show it, easily avoiding the problematic aspect of declaring their leading characters as gay or bi and acting on it on prime time TV, and then "out" them at the end of the show for the lolz. H/W deserve better than that.

I wish I had that much faith in House's ability to suck it up and be there for his friend but I just don't.

What about Fools for Love and Nurse Wendy? He broke into her locker and bugged Wilson about it incessantly. I mean, the fact that Cuddy was involved in AYA and HT made him freak out even more, but that's not to say that House isn't just obsessed with Wilson's relationships anyway.
It probably has become worse after Grace (although he seemed pretty interested in Wilson's supposed mistress in Sex Kills and a litany of other episodes) - he certainly mentions her enough.
