It's weird, because I saw the ad for that comm in the H/W comm yesterday, went to check it out and there were no entries at all even though the post had said there'd be an intro-post with smut. Oh, well, no harm done, especially since there are now two posts with smut. I've noticed something about my reading habits lately and I'm wondering if other people have (had) this too. I'm getting very particular about the smut/sex in fics. I find myself skipping it sometimes as well. I think it has to do with how much it's part of a story, how original it is, how IC they are, the general mood created, but that seems pretty obvious...I can't really put my finger on it. And it's not just with H/W fanfic. Maybe I've reached my smut limit? Maybe there's only so much p0rn you can read in your lifetime and I've used up all mine...But I'm so young...

Actually, I always was very demanding about any kind of smut/sex in books or movies, so I know how do you feel. I skip a lot of fics because, despite the premise seems original, the characters are completely OOC. And it happens not only in smutty ones, not only with H/W fics. ETA. Re. My standard bearer is nightdog's Aftershocks. I love anything written by that particular group of writers. It doesn't have to be smut but I do need House and Wilson to be in character.

I've yet to reach my 'smut limit' (which makes sense as I've really only just become addicted to this fandom) but I like to hope I'm at least starting to develop some standards after nearly a month xD I was surprised by how hard really good smut is to come by in this fandom after coming here from the Harry Potter world. House is just so complex, and his relationship with Wilson is complicated and exact to the point that I think a lot of people become a little lax when they write smut (particularly romantic smut, which is a shame because I think House is really a bit of a romantic deep down). *Will have to remember Nightdog's Aftershocks* I've seen it around House_Wilson, but it's so looooong it's a little intimidating xD edited by arizonamyrie for html/color tags

Well, anyone who gives out prescriptions with a heart drawn on them must be a little romantic. There's some astonishingly good smut in the Fanfic Rec thread. I'm particularly fond of 'Lit'. Although I'll have to make a difference with you on the Harry Potter stuff being good. Maybe I was just looking in the wrong place, though. *shrug*

I'll have to find this fanfic rec thread you speak of...>D The problem with the Harry Potter fandom is that it's so amazingly huge that for all the good fics out there, there's about ten or twenty more that are crap. I've lived on Accio_rs_fics for about the past two years, and since it's fans reccing to fans (and people who read crappy fic and think it's good generally can't be bothered to rec it afterwards) you really only saw Grade-A stories there.
