Oh oh oh - Hihtah - you must post that link to the RSL remix. Dee was wonderful enough to link to it over in the Arthouse thread. You guys are all much too kind! Thanks.

Ho HO!

Hey, anyone? Anyone out there? I just went back and read the Quizno's fangirl report (loved it, thanks), but I don't understand the Mexican poster thing. Can someone explain? Is there something to explain? Or do I just need to accept teh strangeness?

Hithah- 08-23-2007

RSL made a movie back in 1988 that was called "My Best Friend is a Vampire" in the US and "I was a Teenage Vampire" internationally. In Mexico, it was called "Vampiro Adolescente." Several months ago I found this poster on eBay and snatched it up. It's a lobby poster for the Mexican release of the film. I love this poster so much. It's SO cheesy. The "fangs" are just bits of white paper glued over the photo. Someone decided to crop his ears unevenly to give him Spock-like features, even though he didn't have pointed ears in the movie. They even cropped the dark background of the photo into a Count-Dracula-style collar. Plus, it's in all-caps and in Spanish. What is there not to love?! I had the original framed and kept a copy in case I ever had a chance for an autograph. So when I met RSL that night, I brought my unframed copy with me. I showed him the poster and asked for an autograph. Apparently he had never seen it before. He seemed very fascinated/horrified by it. Ha ha. I went back the next week (he did the play two weekends in a row) and left an 8-1/2"x11" color version with the venue staff to give to him, so he could take a better look when it wasn't so dark out. The woman I left it with told me the next day that he received it. Sooooo... that's the saga of the poster!

Has Shoedog seen the webcast "An Evening with House" in the media thread? That's absolutely priceless RSL. He's completely oblivious at one point, not even listening when the moderator asks him a question. Then he doesn't even answer the question once he knows what it is. He also mildly mocks Bryan Singer, who frankly deserves it for being so annoyingly inarticulate (although that's not what RSL was mocking him for). All in all, very amusing.

Totally agree about Wilson in jeans. Also, I'd like to see him in a tee shirt. As far as the "f--- you" swearing on the blooper reel, that kinda threw me for a loop, too, as he sounded so angry, but I don't know from what scene that was taken so perhaps he had to act real angry and thus when he slipped up, that's how it came out. It was kinda odd, though, but if we saw the entire clip and not just the swearing, it'd probably make more sense. The photos of RSL with the dog just melt my heart. If you want to see his public service announcement for the SPCA, here's the link: http://www.njspca.org/support-famous-njspca.htm I've already listened to it a zillion times 'cause I love his voice. He conveys so much with his voice, and yet, it's subtle, no huge changes in pitch or volume. I, too, adore his ordinary-guy personality, and the fact that he likes to shop at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and wastes hours doing the New York Times crossword puzzle. He is almost as boring as I am! But mainly I admire is talent as an actor and that's what makes him so adorable IMHO - he's brilliant. Also I have a crush on Dr. Wilson so of course that leaks over into the actor who portrays him. Thus ends my RSL-admiration post which isn't particularly insightful, but I had to let it out somewhere.....

Okay, I finally have to stand up for him. Elvis Mitchell started the question by saying "Bro, ..." RSL does not strike me as a "bro" kind of guy. I'm sure he thought the question was for someone else. As for Bryan Singer, he's a childhood friend of Ethan Hawke who has been a close friend of RSL since Dead Poet's. I even read somewhere recently that RSL lent Singer a few thousand to get a movie project off the ground in the early days. I think RSL would know by now if Singer minded being teased. (It also explains why RSL was the first person cast -- the director/exec. producer was obviously already very familiar with his work.)

Poeia, you beat me to his defense.

I believe that scene was from Family, when Foreman and Wilson are arguing their points in front of Cuddy in her office. The very shallow side of me also thinks we need more casual!Wilson. I just love how normal he is, I don't know why I love that so much about him. He seems to be pretty down to earth and probably shops at the same places I do lol. He has a great voice, I love to listen to the Bridge to Terabithia audiobook he did. Yes, I have a crush on Wilson, but I think he's pretty damn hot IRL as well. I don't think he looks a lot like Wilson IRL, the glasses are a big plus for me, I have a thing for men who wear glasses(if Clooney starts wearing one I might explode) I think I got all my squee worthy stuff out of my system for now, it's nice to have people to talk about things like this because I don't have anybody who shares my House obsession IRL and all mr GG does is  and all I do when I see RSL/Wilson on screen is :w00t:

He's so not like the ego-driven, self-centered "celebrities" that make the news these days. And he's just so damn cute (with or without glasses)! :)

Check out the twin yumminess of RSL and HL! http://community.livejournal.com/house_wilson/1728858.html Cross-posted in the HL thread.

FOX photo shooting 00:38, RSL/Newspaper OTP. Thank you, CPH! Oh, JS and OE are also there ;)

DIY Sheep- 08-30-2007

I swear he must have superglued that newspaper to his hand in 1990 and has been carrying round every since. Go check out that video. It's hilarious. He's just sitting there looking glum and squinting: "They stole my newspaper."

babyeinstein- 08-30-2007

I don't know why they had RSL all glum and seriousness for the photo shoot. I like his emo shots as much as the next fangirl, but I want to see that dayum sexxxxy smile every now and then, too. I also wish he would trim (or have his stylist do it, obviously) the wispy hair around his ears. I know he likes to be all scruffy for riding the bus in NYC, but since he is Wilson now, I like him all crisp and clean cut ala season 2. Okay... seriously I have no right to give RSL fashion or haircut advice, he obviously doesn't pose just to please me (outside of my fantasies that is). Speaking of fantasies, it is really nice to splash around here in the shallow end of the pool without getting warned for being off topic. Not to bash other boards (I know THAT would be off topic) but where else but here can a blushing fangirl share her RSL love?

Jouse- 08-30-2007

No one comes between RSL and his crossword puzzle. NO ONE.
