Sports rivalries, you say? Never heard of such a thing.

Former co-worker of mine with Browns' season tickets (split with his brother ... said co-worker lived in Detroit, brother lives in New York, but they'd fly or drive to Cleveland for home games. Now that's loyalty) actually giggled when Roethlisberger had his motorcycle incident.

Now that's just cold! But then, Pittsburgh...pretty unforgivable.
I haven't been to a Browns game since the games were still held at old Municipal Stadium.

The only rivalries I'm aware of in my area is Cards/Cubs and Iowa/Iowa State. Especially the last one since I live and work very close near Iowa City

And Brett Favre is back again. Dude, just retire, this shit is getting way old.
Not only back, but the Vikings? Does he want to piss off all of Wisconsin now? Does he have no sense of pride?
I'm not a cheesehead, but I understand and appreciate the concept of historic rivalries. (Apparently better than Favre does.)
Thanks Namaste for stating the insanity of it all. I myself am a diehard Packer fan and Brett Favre fan. He's my childhood hero. Last year was upsetting, this is just devastating. I know many may not understand how bad this is in terms of rivalries, but picture Benedict Arnold switching sides in the Revolution. That's the caliber of betrayal this is to the Packer nation.

I can't believe no one is talking about the World Cup!
I just saw the scores for the morning games SPOILERS Slovenia 2 - USA 2 and Germany 0 - Serbia 1. The latter score made my eyebrows raise. Heard that Miroslav Klose got a red card. END SPOILERS My local is replaying the games tonight so I'm excited to watch them. How am I expected to work during the World Cup? Don't my bosses understand my need to watch footy?!

I don't understand the lack of World Cup coverage here at this acupuncture office. Where's the widescreen, dammit?
galaxygirl- 06-18-2010
I'm trying to catch as many games as I can, but work is interfering with my world cup viewing.

I think we're all having the same problem. All I did last weekend was watch footy. I think this weekend promises to be the same.
That said, I'm keeping an eye on the play by play for the England-Algeria game here.

Which, imo, was the worst match of the tournament so far. Which is saying a lot, because most of them have been booooring.

Worst matches were France two last games. Boy, are we ashamed here. I was about to support Britain, but given their results, I'll be back with my tiny part of Italian blood... :)

I pity the England fans. Ouch.

The tabloids are going to be ruthless in both England and Germany.

Here's hoping Holland will be the one Western European country to keep winning. Sorry Zumi!

I'm not hoping too much. Against Holland, a draw is fantastic. :D
Wish you'd win just by 1 point! ;)
